X inizia a chiedere il pagamento di 1 dollaro l'anno ai nuovi utenti. Per ora si tratta di una iniziativa dell'azienda guidata da Elon Musk in Nuova Zelanda e Filippine.
Il pagamento della cifra dovrebbe, secondo X - e secondo quanto ha sempre sostenuto Musk - a disincentivare il fenomeno dei bot.
Questa forma di pagamento permetterà, quindi, l'accesso alle solite funzionalità. Chi si unisce senza pagare potrebbe solo leggere i post.
Non é chiaro se questa forma di pagamento debba avvenire solo tramite web, informazioni successive parlano anche di pagamento attraverso le app mobile. @X ha confermato la notizia data da @kyliebytes su @FortuneMagazine.
Quando si diceva che X sarebbe diventata a pagamento per tutti, eccone la prova. Questa fase limitata a soli due paesi potrebbe poi estendersi ovunque.
E la situazione attuale non è delle migliori, nonostante la narrazione di Musk che parla di una piattaforma in salute.
In realtà le cose non vanno benissimo.
Senza dimenticare che, ad oggi, gli utenti che pagano rappresentano un numero ridotto.
Anche considerando l'estensione dell'iniziativa a livello globale, questa non permetterebbe introiti adeguati per permettere a Musk, e agli investitori, il ritorno dell'investimento di 44 miliardi di dollari.
Questa è la situazione di X, fu Twitter, ad un anno dall'acquisizione.
