Under the scheme, farmers would have to pay a 2% premium for their kharif crops and 1.5% for rabi crops , with the rest being shared by the state and union Governments. Their share would be about 5% for commercial crops.

INDUS WATER TREATY 1960

It was signed in Karachi on 19 September 1960 by then Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and then Pakistani president Field Marshal Ayub Khan

Signed in 1960, the Indus Waters Treaty is considered a landmark international agreement between India and Pakistan.

It was negotiated with the help of the World Bank and allocates the eastern rivers of the Indus system (Ravi, Beas, and Sutlej) to India, and the western rivers (Indus, Jhelum, and Chenab) to Pakistan.

Although Pakistan receives roughly 80% of the total water from the system, India is permitted limited use of the western rivers for non-consumptive needs such as irrigation, transport, and hydropower.

The treaty includes dispute resolution mechanisms ranging from a bilateral Permanent Indus Commission to international arbitration

RBI caps FEMA violations Penalty at Rs.2 lakh

RBI has capped the penalty amount for FEMA violations to Rs 2 lakh, down from a percentage of the amount of violations earlier in an easing of regulations.

Violations including use of liberalised remittance scheme (LRS) proceeds not reinvested within 180 days, exports not made within one year of advance receipt and gifting high value shares without RBI permission will now be penalised to a maximum of Rs 2 lakhs versus 0.30% to 0.75% of the violation amount earlier.

⚫️Atal Pension Yojana registers 1.17 crore new enrolment in 2024-25

The Atal Pension Yojana (APY) has surpassed 7.60 crore gross enrolments, as of March 31, 2025, marking a milestone in its 10th year, according to a release by Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA).

The PFRDA data reveals that in 2024-25, the scheme enrolled over 1.17 crore new subscribers, continuing its strong momentum with more than 1 crore new subscribers in each of the past three financial years.

The total assets under management (AUM) now exceed Rs 44,780 crore, with annual returns of 9.11 percent since inception

In 2024-25, a record about 55 percent of new enrolled subscribers were women, reflecting increasing financial awareness and gender balance.

ABOUT ATAL PENSION YOJANA:-

Launched  - 9 May 2015 from Kolkata by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi

Under - Ministry of Finance

Managed by- Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) under the National Pension System.

Age Limit -18-40 Years

The scheme is open for Indian citizen only.

Subscribers would receive the guaranteed minimum monthly pension of Rs. 1000 or Rs. 
2000 or Rs. 3000 or Rs. 4000 or Rs. 5000 at the age of 60 years.

In case of premature death of subscriber (death before 60 years of age), spouse of thesubscriber can continue contribution to APY account of the subscriber, for the remaining vesting period, till the original subscriber would have attained the age of 60 years

Subscribers can make contributions to APY on monthly/ quarterly / half-yearly basis.

A subscriber can open only one APY account and it is unique. Multiple accounts are not permitted
