The frequency itself doesn't matter. It is how it is used in relation to the other frequencies firing off around it. In accordance to our cymatic knowledge, what is actually going to have "healing" properties when listened to are music in major, it's modes, or it's usual variations, which are the scales used in what most people listen to anyway. What would cause "harm" would be rage violent lyrics, but that may be only from repeated use.

But I'll meet you halfway here. If you can find the resonant frequency of your chest cavity and fire that frequency, or it's multiples, directly at yourself then it might be good.

If there is some ancient knowledge of a general fundamental frequency of the entire human body and or the soul, then firing one frequency at yourself may actually be helpful.

But if the cathedrals did fire off one frequency that at one point, it was not actually one frequency. It was one fundamental frequency along with overtones. The overtones themselves would have been very specific as well.

With that in mind, they probably just played musical pieces with the "desired" frequency as the root note and the other "desired" frequencies as the root of the modulation destinations instead of just pulsing one note over and over again.

Hearing a laughing baby or a happy dog barking would be far more beneficial than firing a single irritating note in your head which you have no confirmation of its usefulness. It is a placebo.

The fundamental frequency is only the vehicle. The overtones of the fundamental frequency are what makes one voice distinguishable between the next.

One person singing a note sounds different than another person singing the same note because of the overtones.

Words and noises are a sequence of fundamental frequencies, a combination of overtones, and their melodic changes. According to the research of Emoto Masaru, negative words do have a real negative effect on objects around it. Considering everyone talks at varying pitches, this means that specific sets of overtones and their melodic changes are responsible.

So the sets of overtones in conjunction with it's fundamental frequency (and their melodic changes) are the reason for the negative effects of sound.

So if I wanted to heal a population with a cathedral, I wouldn't play one note unless there is a highly specific issue I need resolved.

Note that melody and harmony are what is important. Harmony being fundamental frequency and overtones (tone of voice). Melody being sequence of notes (what is said).

So "tone of voice" can be replaced with instrumentation and chords, and "what is said" can he replaced with musical lines. This is more than likely how they ran the cathedrals when they were more operational.

Symphonies, concertos, sonatas, and everything in between were used for the benefits Emoto Masaru discovered. A combination of harmony, overtones, and melody are what dictates it's usefulness.

So if we were to reverse this, we could get harmful results. Speaking completely theoretically, extreme repeated use of the diminished scale and the whole tone scale would be harmful. A one-note change in a melody may have the same effects, but sometimes it sounds really cool in certain occasions, same with the diminished and whole tone scales.

If you use the weird, disgusting stuff too often that it overpowers or replaces the stable harmonic and melodic content of the major scale and it's modes (and slight note adjustments), it's probably majorly unhealthy.
