The Scott Base search and rescue team recently conducting a mid-winter training exercise to locate a "missing person" who didn't turn up for lunch. The team deployed outside in freezing temperatures to locate and rescue their "missing" colleague!

Did you know that emperor penguins are the largest of all penguin species? Growing to about 120cm (4ft) and weighing up to around 40kg (~90 pounds), we're lucky to get regular visits from these majestic creatures each year!
