The Arctic Rain on Snow Study at NSIDC funded an award-winning StoryMap which tells the story of a Nenets reindeer herder named Tokcha Khudi and how a catastrophic rain-on-snow event impacted his annual migration on the Yamal Peninsula in 2013. bit.ly/3TmC6k4

Snow-covered area in May was near average. Western states showed a mix of snow cover duration. Colorado was particularly quite dry in the south. Extremely low snow water equivalent (SWE) was recorded across Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona. bit.ly/3TaaUUM
