I've been putting things like 'Boosts' off for so long, but considering that I almost decided to stop posting before this month, I think it's about time we started using all these features!

Loved

To be held in that way, with a tight grip,
To lay on a mat, or under the blanket,
Looking up at the sky and all its stars
Until late in the night, just the two of us.

Time spent together is all I ask for,
As they make better memories that last.
Just the two of us is all I ask for
Because, when it's 'us', I am much stronger.

I would wage a war or move the mountains -
I would travel far for whatever you want.
Because you complete me in a new way
I cannot compete with if I were alone.

Setback

It's one challenge after the next
And it doesn't seem to ever end.

It's a blackhole alright,
Sucking in all forms of light.

It's a thunderstorm for sure
And there's no sight of the shore.

It's a trek in a dry desert,
Whilst hungry and thirsty and hurt.

It's a terrible fight to endure,
But it's the only way forward.

Waiting

I want to know what's going on
On the other side of it all.
I worked hard. Now I'm left waiting
For a not guaranteed response.
The wait is way too long to bare,
But either way I must be patient.
If I wait, there's a chance I'll succeed,
Although it depends on others...

Self-expected

A promise that's failed,
An accusation to oneself,
I put myself on bail
From my own jail.

Work that's left incomplete,
Postponed once again.
This is not how it's meant to be,
With deadlines I will not meet.

A chance to make things right
And narrow down the charges
Is an opportunity not to fight
And something not to take lightly.

Sleepy

I want to close my eyes.
I want to rest my head.
All I want to do is lie
Down in my own comfy bed.

No Night Service

That train stops at its last station
Its carriages bare, with no one
Riding its uncomfortable seats
Or running for its closing doors.

Although everything is so still,
That does not mean that it's the end.
The night shall eventually end,
And it'll be back on the tracks soon.

October 7th

It's been a year and they are still screaming,
Telling each other to run for their lives,
To seek shelter so they can somehow hide,
To hold each other tight, hoping they'd survive.

It's been a year of deaths and crying,
Of the media telling only lies,
Of no longer having a normal life,
Of wondering how they'd managed to survive.

It's been a year of constant bombs dropping.
It's been a year of homes being destroyed.
It's been a year of shortages and suffering.
It's been a year of innocents dying.

It's been a year since terrorists attacking
Caused the world to wake up and be shocked -
Only those 'terrorists' are innocent
And it's the oppressors with everyone's backing.

They say that it's been a year since that day,
But really, it's been almost a century.
Governments may try hard to lead the way,
But the people now see more clearly.

What am I going to say?
Even I don't know what it'll be.
I'm trying so hard right now
To find a nice way to say it.

وأنتَ تُعِدُّ فطورك، فكِّر بغيركَ
لا تَنْسَ قوتَ الحمام
وأنتَ تخوضُ حروبكَ، فكِّر بغيركَ
لا تنس مَنْ يطلبون السلام
وأنتَ تسدد فاتورةَ الماء، فكِّر بغيركَ
مَنْ يرضَعُون الغمامٍ
وأنتَ تعودُ إلى البيت، بيتكَ، فكِّر بغيركَ
لا تنس شعب الخيامْ
وأنت تنام وتُحصي الكواكبَ، فكِّر بغيركَ
ثمّةَ مَنْ لم يجد حيّزاً للمنام
وأنت تحرّر نفسك بالاستعارات، فكِّر بغيركَ
مَنْ فقدوا حقَّهم في الكلام
وأنت تفكر بالآخرين البعيدين، فكِّر بنفسك
قُلْ: ليتني شمعةُ في الظلام
