Cyber Attack SHUTS Iranian Steel Plant

#Iran’s state-owned giant Khuzestan Steel was hit by one of the industry’s largest cyberattacks of recent times which forced it to shut down production until further notice.

CEO Amin Ebrahimi played down the attack claiming it had been “unsuccessful” and hoped the website and operations would back up and running by the end of Monday.

According to local news agency Jamaran, the attack failed because the factory was not operational at the time due to a power outage, but follows attacks on gas stations, trains, surveillance networks and state-run websites in the last year.
In #Kremenchug, Poltava region, the Silpo shopping and entertainment center was hit, right behind which is the Kremenchug plant of road machines.

Judging by the destruction of the walls and pillars, the explosion itself was somewhere behind - and then it started a fire in the mall itself.

The mall itself is made of highly flammable materials: what some take for the sounds of exploding ammunition can easily turn out to be a crack from deforming structures or the sound of bursting glass.

Now, at the suggestion of Zelensky, all the world media are writing about a deliberate strike on a civilian object, silent about the presence of strategically important objects behind the mall itself.

We have a couple of questions here.

▪️Why are there so many servicemen in full uniform and even with duffel bags near the peaceful shopping and entertainment center in Kremenchug?

▪️And why are there so few civilian cars in the parking lot, since over 1000 people could have died inside there?

#Russia comments on alleged shopping mall strike

Russia claims that it hit Western-provided weapons in #Kremenchug, causing a fire at a nearby shopping mall that was no longer functioning

An airstrike on the Kremenchug ammo stockpile in Ukraine caused a fire at a closed trade center nearby, the Russian Ministry of Defense claims
The Russian military has confirmed an airstrike on the Ukrainian city of Kremenchug on Monday, but claimed it targeted a stockpile of Western weapons. The detonation caused damage to a nearby non-functioning shopping mall, Tuesday’s report said. Kiev had claimed that Russia attacked the mall, killing and injuring many civilians.
The Defense Ministry said the location was near the Kredmash factory. The military claimed that the Western munitions detonated and caused a fire at a shopping center, which was no longer operating.

Ukrainian officials claim that the mall was packed with people at the moment Russia allegedly attacked it. According to the latest casualty report, 18 people were killed and 59 injured in the incident, with 25 of the wounded taken to the hospital for treatment.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky described the incident in Kremenchug as “one of the most blatant terrorist attacks in European history.” He stated that the site posed no threat to the Russian military and had no strategic value.
Kremenchug is a city in central Ukraine around 250km southeast from Kiev. The Russian military had previously attacked a major oil refinery in the city, denying the Ukrainian military fuel for their vehicles.

A source in the Biden administration told CNN that the White House is losing hope that Ukraine will be able to recapture the territories lost in four months, despite plans to send even more powerful and modern weapons there.

Moreover, Biden's advisers began to discuss how Zelensky's understanding of the term "victory" should be changed, namely by adding the possibility that his country was irreversibly reduced.

However, this pessimism does not yet mean that the United States will put pressure on Ukraine in order to make formal territorial concessions to Russia.
