Ophiocordyceps unilateralis is a parasitic fungus that can essentially reprogram an ant and turn it into a “zombie.” It forces the insect to climb up high, clamp onto a leaf or branch, and then the fungus grows out of the body and releases spores to spread further. 🐜🍄
