A video you can watch like meditation. In the Skagit Valley in the US, thousands of wild geese take off in rolling waves, as if someone pressed a button that says “lift the sky” 🪿

Every year this place becomes a winter base for massive flocks, up to 100,000 birds. Most of them arrive from Wrangel Island, traveling nearly 5,000 km, about 3,100 miles, across the Pacific Ocean.

They hang around here until March, then take off just as smoothly and fly back together.

The Pallas’s cat, also known as the manul, looks extra round because it has some of the longest and densest fur of any cat 🐱❄️ Its legs are actually short, and that thick coat is a clever survival adaptation for the freezing, windy steppes.

A squirrel practically “clips” itself to the tree with sharp claws and pulls itself along in short, quick steps. It can also rotate its back feet, so it can hook in even when climbing down head first and hold onto the trunk like it is a ladder.
