Have you ever wished you could convert your Paper Braille into a digital document?
How about just snapping a picture of your Braille page with your phone, submitting this picture to an online service and getting your recognition results as a print or Braille file? And, if your Braille is double-sided, how about recognizing both sides of the page with the same picture?
Meet Angelina Braille Reader: a Web-based application designed by Ilya Ovodov, a Russian neuroscientist and computer researcher. Originally, Ilya created this application for his 8-year-old adopted blind daughter. He and his wife had trouble checking their daughters homework, and Ilya thought of this ingenious solution. By the way, he also named the app after their little girl, Angelina.
As years passed, the little girl grew older, and the project grew stronger. Today, with Angelina Braille Reader, you can easily process materials in several languages and Braille codes. And even if the type of Braille you would like to read is not supported directly, you can always export the results either as Unicode Braille or as a BRF file.
