I think the far west states have no common history or culture. California started from a gold rush. Who wants to take pride in that? They have no culture other than consumer culture. That might be why it's so vapid. Their roots are in nothing and their industry is professional pretend. And it bothers them that others do have a heritage. So they seek to destroy it all.

Liberals are very uncomfortable about race. On the one hand they need to have the fashionable socially acceptable group think opinion. On the other hand, privately they dont really believe it. This causes an internal struggle. The lashing out and overreaction to anything even precived as racist is really them lashing out at themselves. They are ashamed that they think minorities are less accomplished and less capable and this is guilt transformed into blaming this disparity on white racism.

Well adjusted people who are not collectivist, do not see a disparity as genetic or as a product of racism. But to a liberal mind there are only two choices race or racism. Social credit is on condemning racism and the need for the equality of outcome (equity) is driven by their internal private thoughts that disparity equals inferiority thus no behaviors have to change on the part of any minorities. They must he given advantages and whites disadvantages until the outcomes even out.

They simply replace one form of collectivist racism with another. The Liberal is a creature of external validation and so when their insane racist ideas are challenged they feel injured and cry for censorship. Owning up to being racist is impossible because they'd have to admit they are what they claim to hate the most.

The more beta someone is the more important this is to them because lacking all talants and skills the act of not being racist is upheld as a major achievement.
