در این اثر هنرمند ضمن نمادگرایی به جزیره مردگان اثر آرنولد بوکین اشاره میکند.
با اعمال تضادهای قوی فضایی رویاگونه میسازد.
ترکیببندی با استفاده از سطوح رنگی یکنواخت است، شبحها که از یک نور درونی تشکیل شدهاند درمقابل تاریکی قرار میگیرند. صخرهها و درختان از اسرار جزیره هستند.
کاخ، با برجهای انساننما متمایز میشود و آنها بهوسیلهی سنگهای قیمتی منبتکاری شدهاند.
زوج عاشق نمادی از عشق، ظرافت و مراقبت هستند.
