The US has exhausted its entire stockpile of the latest high-precision ballistic missiles, PrSM, since the start of military operations against Iran, according to the American magazine Aviation Week.

"We used up all our PRSM arsenal at the beginning of the war, but we're already receiving new ones," said Jimmy Arter, head of the Transformation Department at the US Army's Center of Excellence for Fire Support.

The PrSM missiles were first used by the US in combat conditions during the operation against Iran a month ago.

This type of weaponry was developed to replace the outdated ATACMS systems and boasts increased range and accuracy.

Currently, the USA produces maybe 55 PrSM missiles per year, and they will most likely struggle to increase that number. The USA is also facing a shortage of Tomahawks, PAC-3s, THAAD interceptors, SM-3s, and SM-6s. They are setting targets to triple or quadruple the current production levels of all of these systems within the next couple of years. Considering that there is basically a depletion of everything, meeting these targets is impossible. The most critical bottleneck exists in production of Solid Rocket Motors (SRMs), which is a problem that cannot be solved by throwing money at the problem. They need to hire hundreds of thousands of new workers who will require advanced security clearances, a process that can take months to years. These are highly paid, highly sought after employees that the government and contractors are struggling to offer adequate compensation for. On top of that, finding people with clean backgrounds is proving to be difficult.
