Hi guys! Our #idiom of the day is ”Walk on air”, which means β€œto be very happy”. πŸ˜€
That’s what we’ve found about its origin:

This expression is relatively recent with origin in the 20th century. The idiom modified from the feeling down which means someone is depressed. On the other hand, feeling up means you are ecstatic. The highest point someone can be is up in the air. Thus, the idiom originated Walking on the air. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”

Hey guys! How’s it going? Our #idiom of the day is ”Under the weather”, which means β€œto feel ill”. πŸ€’
There are two very similar sources of origin:

1. To be under the weather is to be unwell. This comes from a maritime source. In the old days, when a sailor was unwell, he was sent down below to help his recovery, under the deck and away from the weather.

2. Passengers aboard ships become seasick most frequently during times of rough seas and bad weather. Seasickness is caused by the constant rocking motion of the ship. Sick passengers go below deck, which provides shelter from the weather, but just as importantly the sway is not as great below deck, low on the ship.

Have a great day and don’t be ill! β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”
