Anyone critical of Switzerland's role in WWII should take pause that in 2023 a major western government at the highest executive and Parliamentary levels celebrates an actual Nazi SS officer.

Their only regret today is that they got caught.

Klaus actually ran the same factory in the 60's according to research, and used his facilities and connections to illegally aid apartheid South Africa in developing its atomic bomb.

☝️☝️ With a bunker available to every household (and the government actively advises citizens to keep a month or more of food on hand), the Swiss are the ultimate preppers as a nation. Now, this 'fringe' behavior has gone mainstream; even the Wall St Journal just ran a story on how prepping is the new 'in' thing.

Recently the Swiss government distributed free fresh iodine tablets to every household: A box for every known human, just to be sure everyone had some. Every Swiss household already has these, so this was a little strange. In the fall of 2021, many households got a hair-raising warning letter imploring everyone to stock up on essentials, cash, and so on. The Ukraine war kicked off some months later but it never really affected Switzerland, at least until now.

Now, Israel is flattening Gaza and displacing millions for 'Lebensraum' and gas rights, Iran is threatening to flatten Israel, Turkey is getting involved, and huge naval resources of the West are pouring into the eastern Med and Red Sea while Putin is flexing his nuclear muscles. Ukraine is hardly in the news anymore.

Swiss-style prepping now seems like a reasonable, mainstream idea. Those bunkers we have might actually come in handy.
