POSIX means its standard and will have similar output, so any BSD, any Linux and any Unix, like MACs or Alpine will have similar behavior

GNU means that has similar behavior only in systems that follow GNU philosophy, and will differs from the output of POSIX behavior

This is historical and nowadays its losing due crap of windos .. developers just provide the "program" and do not care about any standard output or form of invocation
