Helpful for aspirants giving Mains 2021
Some aspirants asked for my online notes to get an idea about ways to prepare online notes. Sharing my science tech notes. I would also advise aspirants to go through Tanmay Sir’s notes AIR 10.

Big Day for Physics Optional Fraternity. G.O.A.T for a reason.
IFoS marksheet
Had this discussion with my friend after i missed IFoS final list narrowly by 10 marks.

My lessons from that failure
1. Target cutoff in any exam. I went through topper marks especially who had same marks in Interview as mine and realised that if i score around 800 in mains then even if they give me average 175 then i will definitely be in list.

2. Being above average in every paper.

3. UPSC is an exam of continuous improvement and self evolution.

Always keep your failures in Mind. I always had this nagging that i missed my selection by 10 marks which always kept me on my toes and forced me to get very high marks in Mains ensuring excess dependency on Interview marks is reduced.

So, always try to improve. Rise and Shine 😊😊

These are short revision notes for the topic of HMT.
Will be sharing these for mechanical as and when I am scanning them. Later will also post set of selected numericals.
Number game dekhna hai no doubt but we tend to look at wrong number game.

Wrong number game
1. Large number of people approx 5 lakhs are giving attempt every year. Where do i stand a chance ?

Number game approach which might help
Getting into ias/ ips / desired service requires
1. Overall around 990+ marks ( current pattern)
2. What marks i should target individually in each subject
3. What marks i should target in each paper of optional
4. How can i course correct to attain that desired marks in each paper

This was my approach in this attempt.

For example
In last year IFoS exam i missed final cutoff by 10 marks. Had got avg 175 in interview. For more than a year i was in constant regret ki kash 10 number aur aa jate.

In this attempt of IFoS I looked at toppers marks and tried to find out ideal marks i should target overall and then in each paper individually so that my dependency on interview marks is reduced heavily. I found it to be 760+ considering i get only 150/160 in my very bad day.

With this approach i could see sequentially increase in marks in both cse mains as well as IFoS mains in each paper.

I got 797 in IFoS mains so with even 80 marks in interview i could easily get into merit this time.

Hope this marks targeting approach helps.

Similarly in IIT exam, if any student targets 60% marks he is sure to get under 2000 rank irrespective of competition and year.

Hope this helps
Fodder for thoughts.

Don’t dwell on weakness rather than be solution oriented and try to remove the weaknessess.
project-ias.com

Very good website designed by one of my college friend from IIT Kgp.

It provides past year questions for both prelims and mains and has option to search topic wise questions just by entering keyword.

E.g if i search empowerment all questions related to empowerment are displayed.

Indeed very handy website for the aspirant fraternity.
