We are getting closer. A ceasefire has been proposed in the Middle East, and things are finally becoming clearer. Global tension is lowering, giving us more room to move toward one of our main goals — the salaries.
We have reflected on our last 5 delays. They were not created by us, but as mature individuals, we acknowledge our part in this — we announced dates, created expectations, and then disappointed everyone. For that, we at Google sincerely apologise. We have made the decision to no longer announce specific dates, as we do not want to disappoint you again. This applies to the flip, the salaries, the ceremony, and everything else. While we were the only ones to come up with ideas before the flip — such as the Beta-Testing salary structure — we were also the only ones attacked and blamed for delays. Going forward, we will shift to a more general timeline approach, so that nothing happening behind the scenes, or on the global stage, creates unnecessary disappointment.
As tensions lower, we have decided to:
Continue the arrangements for the offline Ceremony on the Gold Coast.
Accelerate the employment process and contracts.
Hold the online conference before the offline Ceremony — making the Gold Coast event more public, while keeping the online conference exclusive and private, available only to our community.
