The picture illustrates the process by which instant noodles are manufactured. There are eight distinct stages in producing instant noodles, which can further be grouped into preparation, cooking and packaging sets. It is also evident that a number of different…
The diagram provides information about the production process of instant noodles.

The initial stage of the process involves preparing raw materials. First of all, flour is delivered to storage silos by a flour tanker to fill them. This flour and two other raw materials are required for to make dough for instant noodles, which are water and oil.

Once prepared, these products initiate the production process. They are put into a mixer and stirred to make dough in the second stage. This dough subsequently passes through rollers located beneath the mixer, which thin it and make dough sheets. Following this, the sheets are cut into strips that are shaped into noodle discs. The discs are then submerged into a pot with oil to be fried, thereafter which they are dried.

Having been dried, the ready-to-consume noodle discs are placed into cups together with spices and vegetables - two other constituents of this instant food. Ultimately, these packages are labelled and sealed, producing the final product for sale and consumption.

Overall, this linear process commences with preparing raw materials and culminates with packaging the end-products. It is also readily apparent that there are eight distinct stages involved in instant noodle production, requiring the use of a fully-automated conveyor belt and some external influence.

I decided to go after another 9.0 because it seemed like the only logical way to finish off this IELTS band 9.0 saga. More than that, I took it as a personal challenge to see if I could muster courage to put my public rep on the line and make a bold move. I did it so that I could detach my identity from 9.0 regardless of the outcome and get on with my life. Not gonna lie, it was one of the most mentally challenging things I'd ever done. But I'm glad I did it because I now feel so much more confident and comfortable being vulnerable.

Exam experience
this time was more or less the same as it was the other times, except this time I was little stressed out. I'm gonna be making a separate post detailing my personal impressions and where things went wrong.

‼️Disclaimer: following comments are personal impressions and not to be taken as test prep instructions‼️

I normally sign up for the exam about a month in advance. That gives me plenty of time to psyche myself up and get in the right headspace. Within this window, my job is to reset my mind and trick it into thinking that I'm sitting the exam for the first time. You might be wondering what's the point. Unlike what you might be thinking, this is not my copying mechanism for stress, but rather a way to get me pumped up about the exam so I get my lazy ass to work (excuse my French).

As for the prep itself, I don't really do anything outside of teaching a class to get ready for my exam. I think teaching an excellent class is per se the best way of going about my prep. But I admit I went out of my way and brushed up on my writing by watching some tutorials online hoping I'd carve out some edge. This process was quite refreshing and enlightening, tbh, as I picked up some useful tips watching tutorials.

Exam date:

A weird sensation of unease creeped up on me right before the exam, but I brushed it off instantly with some deep breathwork and meditation (always work like a charm). When the test finally got kickstarted, the mind turned on autopilot like always. I got off to a really good start with me acing all section 1 questions. But when section 2 rolled in, things got little hairy. I got confirmation for two of the options in one of the questions, which made things confusing a bit. Guess I missed some details and picked the wrong answer there. But the rest was pretty fine. Anyway, it sucks getting 8.5 in listening after pulling off 9.0 in this section 8 times straight.

Writing - most disappointed outcome. But it is what it is. Did the best I could, but I guess it wasn't my day that day.

Speaking - sitting a speaking interview straight after the mind-numbing process of the main test was not ideal. But no excuses. I went ahead and went for it (it was a cocky move in retrospect). I didn't like the fact that I was incoherent at times and my points lacked a conclusion. Taking full responsibility for that.

After all, I knew right then and there I had a slim chance of repeating my past success with my less than perfect attempt. But I'm glad I did it. I wanna finish off this post with a quote from one of my favorite body builders, Tom Platz.

"The only place to go from failure is to win"

Just when I thought my day couldn’t get any crazier, I got invited to a concert ceremony for the youth. My instant reaction was β€œit's a bad idea” as I knew for sure I wasn’t gonna enjoy Uzbek music, but I couldn’t turn down the event organizer when he said attending the event was the least I could to repay the favor. I had no choice but to relent.

We got to the event few hours after the awarding ceremony, and needless to say, the venue was crawling with people. I mean literally packed. I freaked out a little as I hate crowds of people. But the grandiose look of the Humo arena made this feeling of unease go away.

They started off the event with speeches by some officials, which I'm not gonna lie sounded little pretentious with all the exaggerated sounds and reactions. I guess they were just trying to get the crowd hyped up.

As for the concert program itself, they had all sorts of music genres, comedy routines, choreography, and everything in-between. But here are my top favorites:

1. A video montage featuring para-Olympic winners - a real heart-touching feature of the show. Seeing disabled individuals perform and win on the world arena regardless of their physical shortcomings was truly inspirational. (made me feel like crying, tbh)

2. Combat scenes by army forces - a spectacular display of martial arts combined with insanely precise moves and cool outfits made me wanna quit my job and join the army for a minute. They did a great job of evoking feelings of patriotism and toughness in the whole crowd as everyone watched them in complete awe.

3. Choreography - I admit I fell in love with choreography featured in the show today. I wondered how many dry runs they must have needed to learn to perform with complete finesse. It was just RIVETING.

The show was finished off with gathering of all performers and dancers on the stage and thanking the attendees.

Rating the show 9.5/10

The increasing demand for oil and gas has made it necessary to look for these energy sources in remote and untouched natural places.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of locating oil and gas in these areas?

Pristine locations such as far-off islands and forests now are targeted as prospective oil and gas reserves due to our growing energy needs. While there are some obvious benefits of this prospect, it is not without its downsides.

Exploring energy options in uncharted territories has some economic benefits to consider. Firstly, it is an economically viable solution to global energy needs. As well as meeting the growing demand for fuel, outsourcing petrol from remote areas can reduce fuel prices across the world while maximizing revenue for the producer. A Russian oil and gas manufacturer is a good case in point. The company successfully managed to fill the market deficit for oil and increased its bottom line once it established oil wells in cold, uninhabited Siberia. True, production costs may somewhat increase, but they are eventually offset by revenue from considerable production scaling. Additional economic upsides range from creation of jobs to a reduction in transportation cost in the food supply chain. In this sense, the prospect of expanding oil production in untouched areas is economically virtuous.

Expansion of oil production in untouched ecosystems has some externalities to consider, and arguably the most concerning one is environmental damage. That is, oil production and refining processes such as drilling crude oil and distilling it destroys the wildlife and its habitat and creates a range of environmental problems such as soil erosion, air pollution, and water contamination from the release of toxins. All these problems lead to environmental degradation in far-off wilderness areas. There is also a concern over depletion of Earth’s natural resources. It is common knowledge that energy sources such oil and gas are non-renewable and limited. Revamping oil production, in this regard, could drain natural energy reserves, resulting in global energy crisis. This, in turn, leads to worldwide economic recession seeing as the world economy is mainly driven by energy production.

In conclusion, while the idea of exploiting oil and gas reserves in remote areas can be supported for short-term economic gains, the downsides are environmental harm and economic downturn in the long run.

The table describes how an average Australian household managed their monthly spending in 1991 and a decade later.

In 1991, expenditure on other goods and services was by far the highest, at 250 AUD, followed by the figure for food, at 155 AUD. Housing expenses made up the third biggest spending category with 95 AUD, while spending on utilities (electricity and water) and transport was roughly the same, at around 70 AUD. In contrast, merely 30 AUD was spent on clothing monthly, making it the smallest expense for an Australian household.

By 2001, family budget allocation had changed considerably in Australia. Spending on clothing and transport was reduced to 20 and 45 AUD respectively. Electricity and water bills, however, went up to 120 AUD – more than a 50% rise. Similarly, Australian families were spending 5 AUD more on food and housing in 2001 than in 1991, at 160 and 100 AUD respectively. Expenditure on other goods and services also grew, reaching 270 AUD. All these changes brought the total monthly spending figure to 715 AUD, 40 AUD more than the first year.

Overall, family expenditure on all categories grew with the exception of clothing and transport. It is also worth mentioning that an average Australian family expended the most on other goods and services and the least on clothing in both years. Finally, the total monthly expenditure of an Australian family had grown by 2001.

Some people think money is the best gift to give it to youngsters, while others disagree. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Money is considered by some as an ideal gift option to give to young people though not everyone shares this view. I tend to agree with the latter side.

Admittedly, the idea that money is the most optimal gift to the youth can be justified on several grounds. The main reason is convenience to the giver. Because personal preferences of young and old generations vary, money saves the giver the trouble of choosing the right gift. Monetary gift also leads to improved satisfaction of the recipient. This is because the recipient is entitled to purchase a gift of their choice when they are presented money, as opposed to settling for a less desirable gift. Having bought the gift of their dream, young people feel generally more content than they would if they were to receive a somewhat random gift.

I, however, support the opponents of gifting youngsters money. The chief reason is the fact that young individuals tend to lack financial literacy. Not realizing the value of money, they tend to make impractical purchases. A common example would be an instance of young people buying designer clothes or gaming consoles, which offer short-term value for money. Not only money can be misspent on poor value items, but it also can be put to immoral use by people of young ages. That is, money may incentivize young people, especially impulsive teenagers, to buy drugs and alcohol. Spending of this sort would certainly corrupt them both morally and physically.

In conclusion, although some people could approve of monetary gift to young people as being convenient and gratifying, I do not agree it is the best present seeing as it may be misspent and create chances for young people to engage in unacceptable purchasing habits.

The maps describe how Riversdale university campus changed over a 37-year period (1973-2010).

In 1973, there was a river running from north to south, which split the campus into two. The campus boasted a large nature reserve, sporting fields and ovals, and a building structure along the west bank of the river while economics, fine arts, social sciences, and law departments could be found on the east bank. Furthermore, a library was situated in the center, with administration and sciences buildings to its east. There were also a student union and a car park in the top right corner and a tram station in the east.

Within 37 years, the campus had completely been restructured. The nature reserve was cleared to make way for a new cark park along with a new tram stop to its west. This area is also expected to feature a medical school building in 2019. Though sporting fields and ovals remained untouched, a student union double the size of the former one was built next to them. The law and social sciences buildings were merged into one while the library was extended westward. Fine arts building was converted into information sciences building, unlike economics, administration, and sciences buildings, which did not change. The old car park grew in size with the relocation of the student union. Finally, there were now two bridges connecting two sides of the campus.

Overall, the university campus underwent a complete makeover with many of the facilities being enlarged or repurposed. Despite that, some buildings were not subject to change.
