The image outlines the different stages involved in the life cycle of a flower. Generally speaking, there are eight distinct stages involved in this cyclical process, starting with seeds and culminating with plants with fruits. It is also noteworthy that the process is almost self-contained, with only one phase requiring external influence.

At the first stage of the process, seeds fall from mature plants on the ground, which are collected by humans in the subsequent step and are planted and watered. Following this, the planted seed starts to germinate, growing a root underneath it. After the germination phase is complete, a sprout appears with small leaves, and after a week it turns into a seedling with larger leaves and more roots.

The next stage of the development sees a seedling turn into a plant with buds, each of which produces pink flowers after three days. These flowers then alter their color - becoming paler - and shape from flat into round, thus maturing. Ultimately, these mature plants drop their seeds and repeat the cycle.

20 minutes.

Today many people use the internet and smartphones to transfer money to friends, family and businesses. Is it a positive or negative development?

The development of technology, particularly smartphones and the internet, has enabled people to send money to any person or business. While there are some downsides to transferring money online, I believe that it is a change for the better.

There are some reasons why sending money online can be deemed unfavorable. First, there is a risk of online frauds. My father, for instance, has recently fallen victim to a website and lost about $200 after downloading an application on his smartphone, which was supposed to offer commission-free transfers. Second, there are accessibility issues. People living in remote places like deserts or mountains have very poor mobile connection, let alone internet access. For them, it is more convenient to send money in a traditional way.

Despite the negatives mentioned above, I believe that sending money with the help of the internet and smartphones is a positive change. The main reason why this is so is convenience it offers to users. While banks don’t work 24/7 and ATMs are placed only in specific places, online transfers can be made whenever and wherever possible. Aside from this, sending money via the internet provides instant support or help. A student studying in a foreign country, for example, can easily ask for money from friends or family members during an emergency, such as ill-health or an unfortunate accident. Due to these reasons, online transfers should be seen as progress.

To sum up, whereas online money transfers may not be accessible to all and are potentially vulnerable to scams, I feel that their convenience and speed outweigh any of the drawbacks.

Yet another cool video edit by our graduating group (November Admission).

But this one is little overblown (new titles and all that). Loved the dynamic music and editing. Kudos to M.A.B for putting together this little cute video.

I enjoyed the ride with you and hope you did too. This is not a goodbye video, but just a fun way of reflecting on the time we spent together.

I wonder how they manage to sneak a camera into the classπŸ€”πŸ€”

Many supermarkets are selling more and more products that are imported from other countries instead of selling food that is locally sourced.

Is this a positive or negative development?

More and more food stores sell foreign produce rather than locally grown one these days. Though there are some negative implications of this development, I am of the view that it is a change for the better.

True, the fact that a growing number of supermarkets sell imported food predominately has some consequences. The main detriment is to local farmers. Local farmers whose livelihood generally depends on revenue from food sales will largely be impacted by their foreign competitors, seeing as overseas producers tend to have superior farming technology and easy access to international market. Having lost their edge in the market, local farmers are put out of business, which creates local unemployment. Besides, importation of food often means consumers are overcharged. That is, supply chain costs associated with processing, packaging, shipping and storing food create unnecessary expense for the end consumer, making imported food poor value for money.

Despite these downsides, an increasing trend towards selling imported produce is, to my mind, a favorable turn of events. One positive outcome would be creation of a competitive food market. Being forced to compete with foreign producers, local farmers attempt to improve the quality and affordability of their product to keep their share of the market. This ultimately leads to improved consumer satisfaction. Additionally, locals are able to enjoy foreign produce with relative ease. This is because no travelling is required to experience foods of other cultures. As someone who lives in a landlocked country, Uzbekistan, I have the luxury of trying seafood in my locality. In this sense, new experiences are possible for the consumer at minimal effort and time.

In conclusion, importation of food from other countries may not be a favorable change in some respects, yet I reckon it enables healthy market competition and a convenient way of experiencing exotic food items.

Some countries invest in specialized sports facilities for top athletes but not for the average people.

Is this a positive or negative development?

It is true that some countries support professional athletes by investing in dedicated sports facilities such as gymnasiums, fitness diagnostics centers and training camps, though this privilege does not extend to everyday people. In my mind, this development is generally desirable, though ideally everyone should receive equal attention on matters of fitness and sports.

Admittedly, equal access to specialized sports venues can bring about some benefits. The most immediate benefit is to overall public health. Once people are given access to professional gymnasiums irrespective of their training goals – whether it would be to compete or for its own sake – they are more driven to do exercise. This is followed by gains in their personal health. Having cultivated a culture of fitness and health this way, a country will see general health levels of its citizen rise. Creation of sports halls for public use would also ensure equality of opportunity. That is, the government can level the playing field by giving everyone an equal chance to train and discover their athletic potential. This way, people’s athletic talents will not go untapped.

I, however, would argue that governments should continue investing in specialized sports facilities for competitive athletes. This is because athletes stand better a chance of winning when they can train at a dedicated training venue as their training is made efficient with the help of special equipment such as treadmills and workout machines. Efficiency in training gives athletes an edge over their opponents, enabling them to win. Winning in world tournaments, in turn, will bring a country world recognition. Besides, specialized training facilities might have limited uses for the common man. Given the fact that one can reach a reasonable level of fitness without special equipment, everyday people can do bodyweight workout or use free outdoor facilities to improve their physical condition. In this sense, it might be a waste of resources to subsidize sports facilities for the public.

In conclusion, the fact that some countries prioritize investment for their top athletes over that for average citizens is, to my mind, a change for the better since it bolsters their reputation in terms of sports as well as helping them avoid unnecessary spending.

Money should be spent on creating new public buildings such as museums or town halls rather than renovating the existing ones.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is suggested that the government invest in the construction of new public facilities, such as museums, parks, and schools, instead of reconstructing the old ones. Though there are some downsides to this suggestion, I am generally in favor of creating new public venues.

It is essential to consider some problems associated with the creation of new public buildings. The primary concern is possible environmental harm. As the construction of new buildings requires land, places of nature such as forests or parks might have to be cleared for human use. This, as a result, undermines the natural habitats of some animal and plant species. One other possible issue is loss of cultural heritage. In some instances, culturally-significant areas which are in a state of disrepair are demolished to be replaced by new structures. Although it may sound an economically viable decision, it often means removal of part of our history. These two problems raise ethical questions over the prospect of erecting/establishing new public buildings.

Despite these problems, I would rather have public funds be invested in the construction of new public facilities. Firstly, more public buildings such as schools and hospitals are needed to meet the growing demand from the public. Over the past few decades, there have been major demographic changes like rising rural migration and birth rate, and these changes necessitate investment in new public amenities to keep pace with the increasing need for public venues. Besides, renovation may prove impractical from an economic standpoint. This is because not only do old buildings require constant maintenance, but they also need to be upgraded for efficiency, which tend to be expensive. Hence, cumulative expenses associated with renovation may outweigh the cost of building new facilities in the long run, making the latter option cost-effective.

In conclusion, the construction of new buildings is not without its drawbacks, yet I believe it is more sensible to invest in it in response to the growing need for public venues such as schools and hospitals and as an economically-sound option.
