On December 14, 1973, the far-right Charles Martel group bombed the Algerian consulate in Marseille, France, killing 4 and injuring 20. The victims were almost all Algerians. No one was ever caught or arrested for this attack.

On December 16, 1961, assassins of the Organisation armée secrète (OAS) (public link) executed the head of French military security, Lieutenant Colonel Rançon, who was responsible for combatting OAS within the French military.

Rançon spent his time fighting OAS while allowing Algerians to kill Whites in Algeria with no punishment. On December 16, 1961, he meet his end.
