COVID -19 | New Government Guidance On Opening of Places of Worship

On June, 13th 2020, Government guidance has allowed places of worship to reopen for 'Individual' worship from Monday, 15th June 2020. Whilst this may be appropriate for some faiths, it does not take into account that congregational prayers are the main act of worship within a Mosque.

Al-Ansar IEC is seeking for clear government guidance on the timing and conditions for the re-opening of mosques for collective worship, so that congregational prayers can be safely facilitated. In the meantime, Al-Ansar IEC will continue to remain temporarily CLOSED until further notice.

The government will continue to consider how to allow places of worship to reopen for additional uses in Step 3 of its Roadmap, which is expected to be no earlier than 4th July 2020, subject to further scientific advice.

We thank our community for their support, patience and understanding during this difficult time and we are hopeful that that Mosques will reopen in the not so distant future, Insha'Allah.
