Ma shaa Allah good number alhamd lelah
Tommorow is the beginning of the new Islamic year and the 1st of Muharram. It is the best month for fasting after Ramadan and has been described as 'the month of Allah'. Within it is the sacred fast of 'ashuraa'. Please prepare for it and read up on its virtues:

A-Level & GCSEs Results

Brothers and Sisters,

Assalamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu

We would like to offer our sincerest congratulations to all those who have completed their A-Levels & GCSEs this year! Whatever the result, you have all achieved another milestone in life alhumdulillah.

While some students will feel happy with their achievements, others will perhaps not feel as pleased with their results, but regardless of the outcome, we would like to offer the following advice:

For those who have achieved what they set out to, give thanks to Allah. There is little doubt that you worked hard and sacrificed much to earn your results, but fundamentally, it was the conditions and opportunities in your life which Allah granted you, and opportunities that you had no hand in determining, which allowed you to realise your achievements. In this time of happiness therefore, humble yourself in front of your Lord and show your gratitude for His favours, for as Allah says "If you are grateful, I will increase you in bounty" (14:7)

It is easy to fall victim to pride and arrogance and feel that all your achievements have been realised solely through your own efforts, but remember, “You (Allah) honour whomsoever You wish and debase whomsoever You wish, certainly in Your Hands is all goodness” (3:26). Remember when Satan was commanded to prostrate before Adam and he refused saying, “I am better than him!” It was the arrogance in his heart which made him lose favour with Allah, despite previously having been raised in honour and status among the angels.

For those of you who did not achieve what you set out to, give thanks to Allah, for aside from granting you good health and having blessed you with Islam, He has gifted you an immense opportunity to grow. You may, unfortunately, perceive your results as failure and society in all its narrow-mindedness will have you believe the same, but Allah does not test us in these ways except that He wants to help us grow stronger spiritually.

If you give in to anxiety and despair, Satan will try to capitalise on your feelings and encourage you to sin with the ultimate aim of distancing you from Allah's grace, but do not fall victim to despair! Make istighfar (forgiveness from Allah) and sincerely seek His help and assistance. Your grades are not a reflection of your intelligence and nor of your abilities. If you believe that you are only as good as your grades, that will be the greatest tragedy. Grades are only a reflection of the amount of motivation, interest and hard work you put in at a certain point in your life; they by no means define you and your abilities. Some of the most successful people in this world have triumphed from the greatest adversity because they refused to accept the ridiculous narrative of failure.

We are always happy to offer advice and guidance to any brothers and sisters if they need support, so please feel free to contact the masjid.

We ask Allah that He blesses you and keeps you and your family in His love, mercy and protection. Allahumma Ameen.

Jazakumullahu Khayr

Re: *IMPORTANT - Janaza Attendance Required* for
Br.Nadeem

When: *Tomorrow* *Saturday* *21/08/21*

Time: *11am*

Venue: Al-Ansar Islamic Education Centre, IG3 8TD

*Background*
Around 2 weeks ago a revert sister passed away due to cancer, Inna Lillahi wa inna ilaihi rajioon.

Around 1 week after her death the husband also passed away leaving behind 3 children.

It's our belief Allah is best of the planners and HE has planned something better for everyone. The children are with their uncle now, may Allah bless him. We make dua Allah guides the children to the straight path and give them goodness in this life and join them with their parents in the akhira.

*WHAT IS REQUIRED?*

We need you to attend the Janaza and the burial if possible but attending Janaza is extremely important. Sister was a revert and the brother does not have many relatives.

*The children will probably be present and they need to see the support*
