Here are a few tips for shopping on black Friday like a rational fella:
Tip #1: Buy only if the product is the absolute best at the job. Or else, you end up with a substandard product that's gonna waste your time for eternity. Worst of all, you end up in a vicious cycle of buying new deals to fill the gap and you become agnostic towards buying regular subscriptions.
Tip #2: Some deals are cheaper when you pay monthly. They cost you $197 lifetime, and their monthly plan would be $5/month. So, considering that product will be the best for next 3 years (optimistic estimate), you're losing money buying their deal. Know that lifetime deals are good for the lifetime of their product, not your life!
Tip #3: Buy tools which have either a good funding, good revenue per team member, MRR, or excellent changelog.
Tip #4: Make sure the product is good UI/UX. If they don't care about the experience for the users, they are doomed to fail.
Tip #5: To know if a product has been created solely for selling deals, check their blog, YouTube channel, and their promotional efforts. If they are actively spending money on their macro plans, then may not forever suck deal buyers' milk.
Tip #6: Take people's opinions with a pinch of salt. Asking whether a product is good or not without explaining your business and having self-awareness is a BIG mistake.
Tip #7: "Know your time value for money" (what's your value of time?) Different people are at different income levels.
