🎈Sustainable Harnessing and Advancement of Nuclear Energy for Transforming India (SHANTI) Act, 2025 is India's new landmark law to modernize its nuclear sector.

🎈The Act, which replaces two laws - the Atomic Energy Act, 1962 and the Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Act, 2010, has received the President’s assent on December 19 – a day after Parliament passed it.

🎈With an aim to reach 100 GW nuclear capacity by 2047, SHANTI has allowed private players full entry into the sector.

🎈 It strengthens statutory regulation by granting statutory recognition to the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB).
