IMPACT ON STEEL SECTOR:

Weakening of Chinese property sector is negative for Chinese steel prices and hence for global steel prices.

China produces 58% of global steel. Iron ore prices have already plunged 40% from its peak in past 4 months and now sentiment in steel sector is likely to be affected due to weakening Chinese real estate market. Watch out for further news on defaults in Chinese real estate sector there is never only one cockroach in the kitchen. Hence, we believe steel prices may fall in the near term after a sharp rise in the past 15 months...
