🇨🇦🔥 Saskatchewan declares state of emergency amid escalating wildfires
Saskatchewan government has declared a provincial state of emergency as wildfires intensify across the province, Premier Scott Moe announced on Thursday.
Working with the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency, the order frees up additional resources and speeds evacuations.
Seventeen fires were burning Friday morning, forcing 15 communities to evacuate.
So far this year, 206 blazes have ignited, which is far above the five year average of 125.
