POCO X6 Pro exploded in a Polish primary school student's backpack

No one was injured in the accident, and the smartphone was not being charged or actively used.

It's so ironic how Xiaomi and Poco is still not beating the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 battery allegations...

YouTube now lets you hide recommendation pop-ups at the end of videos

YouTube will finally let you dismiss the pop-ups that fill your screen with recommendations at the end of a video. Now, when you come across an end screen, you can select a new “hide” button in the top-right corner of the video so you can finish what you’re watching without distractions. If you want to bring the end screen back, you can tap the Show button.

Along with this, YouTube is removing the “subscribe” button that appears when you hover your mouse over a channel’s watermark on desktop.

Kids under 16 will be banned from social media in Australia Australia has passed world-first laws banning children under 16 from using social media platforms like TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, X, Reddit and Facebook from the end of the next year, to give companies…
Australia thinks GitHub is as risky for kids as TikTok

Australia’s eSafety Commissioner has written a letter to GitHub, asking whether it should be treated like a social media platform that endangers children. Forking code is focking dangerous, mate?

The initial list of potential companies that might need to comply with Australia’s social media age restrictions includes:
Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Snap, TikTok, YouTube, X, Roblox, Pinterest, Discord, Lego Play, Reddit, Kick, GitHub, HubApp, Match, Steam, Twitch

The 16 companies have been asked to use eSafety's "self-assessment" tool to help determine if their service falls under the new laws.
