Google Play Store Now Updates Multiple Apps at Once
Play Store can now download multiple app updates simultaneously. This comes after Play Store added support for downloading multiple apps while installing.
No more waiting for one app to finish before the next starts - you can update up to three apps at once. This matches what iOS users have had for a while. The change applies to both updates and new app installs. It's a small but sweet improvement that should make keeping your apps up-to-date way less of a chore.

Apple Music now lets you export playlists directly to YouTube Music (1/2)
Apple has launched a new tool allowing users to easily transfer their playlists from Apple Music to YouTube Music. The tool only transfers playlists you created, and it excludes music files, non-collaborative shared playlists, curated playlists, and organized folders.
The transfer process is done through Apple's Data and privacy page. However, the tool doesn't support transfers to Spotify or any other service.

YouTube Music can also transfer playlists to Apple Music (2/2)
Due to a partnership with Apple, Google has also rolled out a new feature that lets users transfer playlists from YouTube Music to Apple Music using the Data Transfer Project. This partnership, which is ongoing, previously led to the tool for moving photos and videos from iCloud to Google Photos.
YouTube Music users can transfer their playlists to Apple Music through Google Takeout. The process requires an active Apple Music subscription. Only user-created playlists can be transferred, while shared playlists are excluded.
DTI teases that other services may join in time:

Portability is a hard problem, and no tool can be perfect. But at DTI, our ambition – shared with our partners – is to build and ship best-in-class offerings for direct portability. We believe we have accomplished that goal with this newest DTP-powered tool, and we’re proud that users of Apple Music and YouTube Music can now transfer playlists between those services, free of charge, with a high quality experience. We hope and anticipate that other services will join us in this journey over time.

OSOM, the company formed from Essential’s ashes, is apparently in shambles
OSOM Products, a company formed by former Essential employees, is facing serious allegations from its former Chief Privacy Officer, Mary Ross. She claims in a lawsuit that the founder, Jason Keats, misused company funds for personal luxuries, including two Lamborghinis, his mortgage, and first-class travel.
The lawsuit suggests that OSOM’s smartphone venture might be over, with financial troubles allegedly caused by Keats' actions. OSOM denies these claims, calling them "outlandish," and the case will be contested in court.

Brazil Threatens Huge Fines for VPN Users Accessing X, Musk Fires Back
Looks like Brazil's not messing around with X users.
The country's Supreme Court says it'll slap a whopping $8,874 daily fine on anyone using a VPN to access the platform.
Elon Musk, X's outspoken owner, didn't take this lying down. He fired back, calling Brazil's leadership an "oppressive regime" that's "afraid of people learning the truth."

Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Motorola, Vivo and Realme found guilty of colluding with Amazon and Flipkart in India
The CCI's 1,027-page report on Amazon said the Indian units of 5 companies - Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Realme and OnePlus - were "involved in the practice of exclusive" phone launches in "collusion" with Amazon and its affiliates, breaking competition law. In Flipkart's case, a 1,696-page CCI report said the Indian units of Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Vivo, Lenovo and Realme conducted similar practices.
The major issue with these "exclusive launches" is that retailers offered the big players preference, prioritization of certain listings, and steep discounts, all of which hurt other retailers
All 5 companies have been ordered to submit their financial statements for three fiscal years to 2024, certified by their auditor, to the CCI, according to an internal CCI document dated Aug. 28 as seen by Reuters.

How losing Sony's PlayStation 6 deal to AMD may have dealt another ‘big blow' to Intel
Intel lost a significant contract to design and manufacture Sony's PlayStation 6 chip in 2022 to AMD. This setback hindered Intel's efforts to grow its foundry business, part of CEO Pat Gelsinger’s turnaround plan. Winning this deal could have generated billions in revenue over several years.
A pricing dispute and concerns about backward compatibility with earlier PlayStation models played roles in Intel's failure to secure the deal. AMD ultimately won, continuing its work from the PlayStation 5 chip.

Telegram to Share User Information with Law Enforcement
Durov has announced that Telegram will now share the IP addresses and phone numbers of users who violate its policies with law enforcement in response to valid legal requests.
This is kinda disappointing, especially since Telegram was originally meant to be a private messaging app. It seems like the platform isn't as secure or private as it used to be.
