‘There is no charge to customers’, NPCI clarifies on charges on UPI transactions
National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) via its official Twitter handle has issued a statement clarifying that there is no charge to customers. As per the rule, the interchange charges are applicable for Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI). This means that UPI transactions made via PPIs such as wallets, credit cards will have an interchange fee of 1.1%.
Additionally, there are no charges for the bank account to bank account based UPI payments i.e. normal UPI payments. “With this addition to UPI, the customers will have the choice of using any bank accounts, Rupay Credit card and prepaid wallets on UPI enabled apps," NPCI’s Twitter post further clarifies.

Apple sued for promising privacy, failing at it
The complaint [PDF], filed in Northern California District Court on behalf of plaintiff Julie Cima, claims Apple captures iPhone customer data despite device settings declaring a preference that information should not be shared.
"Apple records consumers’ personal information and activity on its consumer mobile devices and applications ('apps'), even after consumers explicitly indicate through Apple’s mobile device settings that they do not want their data and information shared," the complaint, filed this week, says. "This activity amounts to an enormous wealth of data that Apple collects and uses for its financial gain."

Steam won’t run on Windows 7 or 8 after January 1, 2024
The main culprit, according to Valve, is the built-in Chromium-based browser that Steam actually uses to render the Steam store and other bits of the UI. Chrome dropped support for Windows 7 and Windows 8 right around the same time that Microsoft ended support for the operating systems earlier this year. Versions that still work in Windows 7 and 8 will be susceptible to security bugs and, increasingly, rendering bugs and other functional problems as time goes on.
According to Valve's own survey data for February of 2023, the 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 account for a little less than two percent of all Steam usage.

Twitter blocks Pakistan govt's account for viewing in India
Pakistan government's official Twitter handle has been blocked in India. The page of the account @GovtofPakistan is currently 'withheld' by Twitter. The page states that the account has been blocked in response to a 'legal demand'.
This is the second time in six months that the official account of the Pakistan government has been blocked in India. Neither Twitter nor the Indian government has offered any statement about the blocking of Pakistan's government's Twitter handle.

Huge Microsoft exploit allowed users to manipulate Bing search results and access Outlook email accounts
A dangerous vulnerability was detected in Microsoft’s Bing search engine earlier this year that allowed users to alter search results and access other Bing users’ private information from the likes of Teams, Outlook, and Office 365.
Researchers were able to log in to "Bing Trivia" using their own Azure accounts, where they discovered a content management system (CMS) that allowed them to control live search results on Bing.com. Wiz highlights that anyone who landed on the Bing Trivia app page could have potentially manipulated Bing’s search results to launch misinformation or phishing campaigns.
An investigation into Bing’s Work section also revealed that the exploit could be used to access other users’ Office 365 data, exposing Outlook emails, calendars, Teams messages, SharePoint documents, and OneDrive files.
The exploit was patched on February 2nd, just days before Microsoft launched Bing’s AI-powered Chat feature
