💥 Jalu pawar ystrdy late night case study..
💥 repaired in 1hr 45 mnts
💥 model la-7912p
💥 issue : no power
💥 1st checked vin = ok
💥 2nd sb section short = found 5v electrolytic caps short
💥 still no solution in sb..
💥 checked pin details of sb ic
💥 vin= ok,
💥 2v ref was 3.4v
💥 no ldo3, no ldo 5
💥 removed 2v ref caps, now its was 2.2v still no LDO volts generate
💥 change SB ic = 3.3v,5v, ok
💥 there was voltage disturbance in sb = checked in CRO found output caps leaky, change it, now sb section was solved..
💥3rd ram section coil was showing short..
💥 changed Ram ic, section clear
💥 4th pch section was showing short
💥 changed pch pwm ic, section clear..
💥 we thought all was showing well and clear..
💥 after pressing POWER ON Dc showed 74, means something short..
💥 found 5v line short..
💥 isolated 3.3v & 5v jumper pads..
💥 now DC showed.. 11..means output short..
💥 just joined pad of 3.3v, dc showed 123,means ready to switch and ok..
💥 it was now clear that 5v section line was short..
💥 removed dc to dc section mosfets and put jumper to clarify... No results
💥 injected 5v at put pad of 5v section.. Heating not found..
💥 now checked with temperature heat sensor GUN..
💥 normal border 34°, But near 1v coil it was showing 36°..
💥 it was now clear to check this section.. There was no heating in any caps or ic..
💥 removed 1v section pwm and checked DC was showing 11..
💥 now the case was clear..
💥 changed 1v pwm
💥 now resolder 5v pad and power on... BOOM.... the laptop was on one shot display...
