🇨🇩UN: more than 1,500 people became victims of sexual violence in DR Congo in 2025
More than 1,500 people became victims of conflict-related sexual violence in the Democratic Republic of the Congo in 2025. This was reported on the website of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).
🔸 According to the United Nations Joint Human Rights Office (UNJHRO) in the DRC, most of the victims were women (854) and girls (672). The main epicentre of the violence is in the east of the country: the provinces of North Kivu and South Kivu account for nearly 80% of all documented cases.
