#85 Travelogue Tukey: Try something new

โ–ถ๏ธ Without the many new things to try, travelling would be half as interesting. Letโ€™s explore ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ทTurkey for some weird stuff:

Unripe melons
The taste is cucumber plus x, and it is eaten with a dash of salt. Quite special, especially when sold by unripe people!

Carob
Chocolate hanging down from a tree? Yes, this fruit has a chocolatey flavour indeed but think of it more as a wood-flavoured chocolate.

Mussels
This iconic Izmir street food is enjoyed with lemon juice. โ€˜Enjoyedโ€™ of course only if youโ€™re into seafood.

Atom Tea
Wipe out all the germs and viruses that trouble you in one go. Boom!

Situation
Apparently this refers to a drink. Hot or cold, alcoholic or not โ€“ maybe thatโ€™s up to the situation.

#36 Tongue twister: Peter Piper

โ—๏ธChallenge yourself with this tongue twister:

โ–ถ๏ธ Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers? If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

Translation:
Piter Payper bir oram tuzlangan qalampir tanladi. Piter Payper tuzlangan qalampirdan bir oram tanlaganmi? Agar Piter Payper bir oram tuzlangan qalampir tanlagan bo'lsa, Piter Payper tanlagan bir oram tuzlangan qalampir qani?

๐Ÿ”˜ Intonation: As a rule of thumb (=approximate rule, not 100% rule), go โ†—๏ธ before commas and โ†˜๏ธ before full stops. Go โ†—๏ธ at the end of yes-or-no questions and โ†˜๏ธ at the end of wh-questions. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers โ†˜๏ธ. Did Peter Piper pick a peck of pickled peppers โ†—๏ธ? If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers โ†—๏ธ, where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked โ†˜๏ธ?

#136 Our favourite mistakes: Vocabulary

โ–ถ๏ธ Please translate the following sentence:
Prosto seni sevaman demoqchi edim.

โŒ Perhaps you think it is:
Just I wanted to say I love you.

โœ… Well, it should be:
I just wanted to say I love you.

โ“Why?

โ—๏ธ Just I means only I โ€“ not somebody else. This is not the intended meaning here.

โ—๏ธ Just is a synonym of only and always describes the word behind it. Unlike the Russian ะฟั€ะพัั‚ะพ it cannot be used for a whole phrase.
