❗️We all know that time management is key to successful studying. But how to do it? Here are 3 steps:
1️⃣ Do a research – how do you actually spend your time? For a couple of days, don’t change what you do but make a list of how much time you spend on doing what. Find the activities that kill your time.
2️⃣ Be patient and realistic. Don’t over-plan. Start by testing yourself, what can you do and what can’t you do? Don’t follow books or teachers blindly but get to know yourself!
3️⃣ Have some little rituals! Do the same study activities at the same time and in the same place every day. Regular meal times, sleeping times and even prayer times can help you. One hour after dinner, half an hour before sleeping, the time between two prayers, etc.

#2 Learn how to learn: Handle your phone!
❗️Think of your phone as your best and worst “frenemy” – your friend and your enemy at the same time. It’s your friend because you can get any information you want but also your enemy because it steals a lot of your time.
1️⃣ Think of your phone as a tool, not as a part of your body. Do some regular activities (not only sleeping!) without your phone, like playing with kids, sports, gardening, cooking, etc.
2️⃣ Switch off notifications from social media. Your Facebook and Telegram should never make any sounds. If anyone needs you right now they can call you or send you an SMS.
3️⃣ Get an offline dictionary, for example Longman’s or Merriam-Webster. It gives you plenty of good examples for usage and you don’t have to be online for it.

#3 Learn how to learn: Making a word list
❗️We all know the problem. Learning vocabulary takes forever and our word lists get longer and longer. Meanwhile we feel stupid for always forgetting.
❓How can we make the list efficient?
1️⃣ Focus on useful words. The best kind of words for your list are words that you’ve seen before but forgot or still don’t know the meaning of.
2️⃣ Avoid words that are not your level. Yes you want to reach that level but if it’s five levels too high then it’s just not the right time.
3️⃣ Limit yourself to one word – one meaning. “Park” (noun) and “park” (verb) mean totally different things, we don’t learn both meanings at the same time.

❓Learning English by watching movies is very enjoyable indeed – but is it actually possible?
❗️Well yes, but keep these 5 things in mind:
1️⃣ Follow your heart but don’t forget to take your brain with you. That means follow your interest but don’t forget your language learning purpose.
2️⃣ Be choosy about movies. Action movies can be full of slang and incomplete sentences, and that’s not going to help you with exams. Choose documentaries for both academic vocab and knowledge!
3️⃣ Choose movies with subtitles. You can always pause and check the meaning, and it also helps your reading skills.
4️⃣ Improve your pronunciation and intonation by pausing the movie, then imitate. Do that with voices and accents that you feel comfortable with.

3️⃣ Engage in conversation. Don’t just answer questions but have something to say and ask back. Practice turn-taking and your conversation becomes as natural as in your own language.
4️⃣ Adapt to your partner. It may not be the right time to show off high-level vocabulary or idioms.
5️⃣ Don’t be selfish. If you only care about yourself and grab speaking time you can’t learn to communicate. Your best friend will always be your mirror.
