β Do you have the feeling that you make too many mistakes in English? Then mistakes are your enemies. But how can they also be your friends?
1οΈβ£ Mistakes are enemies. They can make us look stupid and feel bad and because of them we cannot score high in exams. Of course we hate them for that. The worst mistakes are the ones you donβt know about. We also call them errors.
2οΈβ£ Mistakes are friends. When you notice your mistake you actually learn. In fact, you cannot learn without making mistakes. Our brains are unable to produce perfect sentences when learning a language and we must make mistakes.
3οΈβ£ Mistakes are βfrenemiesβ. We want to speak English without mistakes but at the same time mistakes show us the way. Letβs take mistakes for what they are β a necessary evil.

βοΈ German speakers come from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Many of them know English quite well and travel the world, both for business and tourism. So there is a chance that you will hear them or even talk to them at some point in your life!
π Pronunciation: Like so many people on Earth, German speakers may struggle with the English βthβ sounds. They also tend to over-pronounce the [Ι:] sound as in girl. Consonants in the end position are always hard in German, so dog may become dock and god may sound like got. [w] may be turned into [v]. German speakers are also bad with linking between words.
π Grammar: Tenses are less complicated in German, so expect some trouble here.
π Vocabulary: The word already and can be overused they use or as a tag question, e.g. You are already ready, or? Besides, there is often confusion with similar words that have different meanings, like become and bekommen (to get).

Graffiti belongs to urban landscapes in Europe. You can find it on walls, on buildings, in staircases and lifts, on trains and on billboards, really everywhere. Liberal cities like Berlin and Hamburg have lots of it, conservative cities like Munich have less.
The good kind
Good graffiti is when you make a boring place more beautiful or have a good message that inspires people. It brings a smile to their face and makes life better, even if just a little bit.
The bad kind
Bad graffiti is basically selfish. You just want to share your unimportant message or untalented art. Or worse, society neglects you and you take revenge for it by vandalising the public space. Ouch.
