So easy?

๐Ÿ‘ Demolished was correct of course. Thatโ€™s a word specifically used for buildings, meaning knocked down.

๐Ÿ‘Ž Spoilt is gone bad, usually describing food, plans or children. Refurbished is for buildings and means renovated. Deleted is used with information, messages, etc.
#28 Tongue twister: What if?

โ—๏ธChallenge yourself with this tongue twister:

โ–ถ๏ธ How much wood could woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood? A woodchuck would chuck as much wood as any woodchuck would, if a woodchuck could chuck wood.

Translation:
Agar o'rmon kemiruvchisi yog'ochni tashlay olsa, qancha yog'ochni o'rmon kemiruvchisi tashlay oladi? Agar o'rmon kemiruvchisi yog'ochni tashlay olsa, o'rmon kemiruvchisi har qanday o'rmon kemiruvchisi tashlagani kabi yog'ochni tashlaydi.

โ—๏ธPay attention to:

๐Ÿ”˜ Intonation: This tongue twister has an enjoyable rhythm when you say it fluently.

#93 Our favourite mistakes: Grammar

โ–ถ๏ธ Please translate the following sentence:
Men kecha qattiq ish qildim va tezda charchab qoldim.

โŒ Perhaps you think it is:
Yesterday I worked very hardly and got tired very fastly.

โœ… Well, it should be:
Yesterday I worked very hard and got tired very fast.

โ“Why?

โ—๏ธ The correct adverbs are hard and fast, and unlike other adverbs they are the same as in their adjective form.

โ—๏ธ The word hardly exists but has a different meaning. It means almost not, e.g. I hardly work. โ€”> Deyarlik ishlamayman.

#5 World Food: Nasi Goreng from ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฉIndonesia

โ–ถ๏ธ Nasi Goreng is โ€ฆ

... made with:
Rice and any vegetables. Can be with or without any kind of meat or prawns (=a type of sea food, โ€˜shrimpsโ€™ in American English). Plenty of oil and soya sauce are used. โ€œNasiโ€ means โ€œriceโ€ and โ€œgorengโ€ means โ€œfriedโ€, so weโ€™re basically talking about fried rice here!

... eaten with:
Nasi Goreng is often served with fried eggs. Indonesians also like prawn crackers (=thick chips) on the side and โ€œSambalโ€, a spicy chili sauce.

Healthy or not? ๐ŸŸก
Easy to make? ๐ŸŸข
Cheap enough? ๐ŸŸข

#59 Travelogue Germany: Cycling in Germany

You thought Germany was a nation of cars but today it is just as much a nation of bicycles. How so?

Bike paths
Thereโ€™s a whole network of roads that are not for cars but for bikes. You can get special maps for cycling.

Bike compartments
Should I take the train or the bike? You can do both at the same time. Even on the metro!

Signposting
If you donโ€™t have a map just follow the arrows and youโ€™ll be fine. You can also see the distance to your destination in kilometres.

Equipment
Germans are serious cyclists. Most of them wear helmets and bright-coloured clothes for better visibility.

eBikes
Nowadays you may get overtaken by some old geezers. How do they do it? A lot of them have eBikes now that are battery-powered.

#18 Movie Time: Parasite (2019)

โ–ถ๏ธ Todayโ€™s movie is an Oscar-winning (=winning the most important award for films in Hollywood) film from ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ทKorea that mixes comedy and drama. Through private services like home tutoring (=teaching classes at a studentโ€™s home), cleaning and driving, a poor family manages to gain the trust of a rich family. Watch how they run into an unexpected problem.

โ—๏ธ The movie is in Korean with English subtitles. Subtitles are an excellent way of pushing you speed up your reading and stop the stupid habit of reading out loud! ๐Ÿ˜‰
