According to Reuters, citing Russian Finance Ministry documents, the figure involves a record 17.1 trillion rubles ($202.6 billion) in 2027 โ 27% higher than initial budget plans. Total defense spending for the 2025โ2027 period is set to reach 50 trillion rubles.
At the same time, the Russian government has raised its 2026 budget deficit forecast to 3.2% of GDP, is ramping up borrowing, and is preparing new taxes to cover the financial gap.
The news agency reports that, amid a decline in projected oil and gas revenues, Russiaโs national debt will continue to rise, exceeding 20% of GDP by 2027 โ a level authorities previously considered safe.

My book projects aim to bring illuminated manuscripts back to publishing, creating beautifully illustrated editions of the great legendary, poetic, and heroic texts of the medieval world.
I'm working to build a whole collection of fine edition books that ground the great texts of the Western canon fully in the artistic world in which they were born, to bring the tales alive with the language and aesthetic spirit of their own times.
I began in 2024 with Beowulf, an Anglo-Saxon tale of an even older Scandinavian hero-king.
Proceeding into (though not exhaustively through) the wonder-tales of the far north, in 2025 I undertook the Poetic Edda in Old Norse alongside a modern English translation.
Along the way I'm building projects for artists, students, and makers of all sorts, resources like the Arthurian program that will give them everything they need and walk with them through the immensely fulfilling process of creating their own majestic illuminated book.
Next up is the Gawain and the Green Knight project we're launching on Kickstarter in just a few days. This classic Arthurian tale will launch us into a whole series of subsequent projects like "Parzival" and "Le Morte d'Arthur". This will be an absolute gem in any home library or collection! Alexander Stahel makes the case Iran has lost control over oil flows as Middle East oil exports reach 94% of pre-war export levels, largely due to a system of ship to ship transfers to move oil out of the Persian Gulf through the Oman Lane. He says the market will remain tight for a bit, but there will be a large drop starting in Q1 of 2027.

These spectrum analyzers simply display RF activity on a given frequency, without further processing they do not detect or identify drones. They do nothing to solve fiber optic or AI drones. Spectrum analyzers generally provide information overload to undertrained troops.
For these to be effective, basics of radio theory and drone RF must be instructed at all levels of the U.S. Army.

Overnight, Russia launched at least 18 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles and Oniks supersonic cruise missiles at Kyiv and Kyiv Oblast, striking the CHP-5, CHP-6, and Trypillya Thermal Power Plants. Large fires broke out following the strikes.
Additionally, numerous Geran-4 and Geran-5 jet-drones were used to attack energy infrastructure, including the aforementioned power plants, as well as other targets across Kyiv.
