Newly hidden FBI documents released by
@FBIDirectorKash
CONFIRM:

Not only did the FBI stage January 6 five months before it happened while the DNC planned to overthrow the United States government if Trump won, β€œProvoke a breakdown on January 6 to disrupt the proceedings and prevent the vote from going through.”

But Christopher Wray also had 274 federal agents embedded at the official proceedings of Jan. 6 and had federal agents infiltrating chat rooms months before January 6 orchestrating for the overthrow of the U.S. government.

United States Representative Clay Higgins: VINDICATED

@RepClayHiggins
: β€œChristopher Wray was not only involved in the actions on J6 from withinβ€”he had over 200 agents embedded, dressed as Trump supporters, before the doors were even opened.”

β€œWhen you track the text threads and the communications within those groups and trace the origins of suggestions of potential violence or an active occupation of the Capitol on January 6, you’ll find that those messages were led by members who turned out to be FBI agents infiltrating the groups. The FBI’s involvement was deepβ€”not just on J6, but in the days, weeks, and months prior.”

Francis Bacon, Science & Scientism
Did Francis Bacon invent modern science, or something considerably more consequential?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWMmbt3fCQA

In this episode of the AetherStream, I sit down with Robert Frederick of The Hidden Life Is Best to examine Francis Bacon’s extraordinary influence on the development of modern science, and the darker question of whether Bacon also helped lay the intellectual foundations of modern scientism.

Bacon famously envisioned knowledge not merely as understanding, but as power: power over nature, power to improve the human condition, and potentially power exercised by those who possess scientific knowledge over those who do not. His unfinished utopian novel New Atlantis imagined a society in which an elite scientific institution systematically gathers knowledge, develops new technologies, advises the state, and keeps some of its discoveries secret. That vision would profoundly influence the scientific culture that followed him.

Robert and I trace Bacon’s program from The Advancement of Learning and Novum Organum through New Atlantis and the subsequent rise of the Royal Society. We also examine a central tension in Bacon’s legacy: for all his advocacy of experimental investigation, Bacon himself was not a particularly successful experimental scientist. His greater achievement may have been convincing generations of others that organized science could transform both nature and society.

From there, the discussion moves into more controversial territory. Robert examines Bacon’s treatment of the soul and metaphysics, possible connections with Gnostic thought, and his argument that Bacon helped establish the intellectual conditions under which science could expand into scientism, the belief that scientific authority provides not merely knowledge about the physical world but answers to questions of politics, morality, human nature, and how society ought to be organized.

Finally, we turn to New Atlantis and ask the question that gives the discussion its contemporary relevance:

Was Bacon describing a scientific utopia, or drafting a remarkably prescient blueprint for technocracy?

Four centuries later, amid β€œtrust the science,” Big Tech, transhumanism, scientific management, and increasingly intimate cooperation between technological institutions and the state, Bacon’s vision looks considerably less remote than it once did.

TIL that Phryne, a wealthy 4th-century BC Greek courtesan, was tried for impiety in Athens. According to later accounts, she revealed her body before the jury, while her lawyer Hypereides argued that someone so beautiful could not offend the gods. She was acquitted.

😠 Russia is preparing for a record increase in war spending. This is double the amount in Ukraine’s budget β€” Reuters

According to Reuters, citing Russian Finance Ministry documents, the figure involves a record 17.1 trillion rubles ($202.6 billion) in 2027 β€” 27% higher than initial budget plans. Total defense spending for the 2025–2027 period is set to reach 50 trillion rubles.

At the same time, the Russian government has raised its 2026 budget deficit forecast to 3.2% of GDP, is ramping up borrowing, and is preparing new taxes to cover the financial gap.

The news agency reports that, amid a decline in projected oil and gas revenues, Russia’s national debt will continue to rise, exceeding 20% of GDP by 2027 β€” a level authorities previously considered safe.

πŸ“– πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ 🏰 The Last Homely House on X:
My book projects aim to bring illuminated manuscripts back to publishing, creating beautifully illustrated editions of the great legendary, poetic, and heroic texts of the medieval world.

I'm working to build a whole collection of fine edition books that ground the great texts of the Western canon fully in the artistic world in which they were born, to bring the tales alive with the language and aesthetic spirit of their own times.

I began in 2024 with Beowulf, an Anglo-Saxon tale of an even older Scandinavian hero-king.

Proceeding into (though not exhaustively through) the wonder-tales of the far north, in 2025 I undertook the Poetic Edda in Old Norse alongside a modern English translation.

Along the way I'm building projects for artists, students, and makers of all sorts, resources like the Arthurian program that will give them everything they need and walk with them through the immensely fulfilling process of creating their own majestic illuminated book.

Next up is the Gawain and the Green Knight project we're launching on Kickstarter in just a few days. This classic Arthurian tale will launch us into a whole series of subsequent projects like "Parzival" and "Le Morte d'Arthur". This will be an absolute gem in any home library or collection! Check it out and sign up to be notified when it launches at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tamburngospels/gawain-and-the-green-knight-an-arthurian-wonder-tale
