๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Newly-released Pentagon documents blow the lid off concealed US casualty counts in Iran warโ€™s opening act

What the Pentagon chose to withhold for months is now impossible to ignore, the data reveals the truth about the war's first weeks. At least 400 American soldiers were counted as casualties, some of them suffering critical, life-threatening wounds, with head trauma being the most prevalent injury, affecting at least 170.

The army had the most casualties: over 270, among them were 64 officers, two generals, and roughly 30% reservists.

๐Ÿ‘‰ The warโ€™s deadliest incident occurred on March 1, when an Iranian drone strike hit Kuwaitโ€™s operations center at Port Shuaiba, killing six American troops, after US generals allegedly ignored prior intelligence warnings about the vulnerability of the site.

CENTCOM has come under scrutiny for its limited disclosures. Two of the bloodiest days - 29 casualties on March 3 and 70 on March 18 - were never publicly detailed by the command, which has continued to release only monthly casualty totals.

Following Trumpโ€™s decision to end the truce on July 8, US forces have suffered more than 200 additional casualties and four more deaths in renewed strikes.

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ทโšก๏ธ โ€” U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Iran:
We have them by the throat, and they've got 150โ€“180% food inflation, not able to pay the troops.

I think shortly, maybe even today, tomorrow, we are going to see an agreement, a 30- to 60-day ceasefire, and the Strait will be open.

Energy prices should come down.

"Jews are a group of people unto themselves. Their Jewishness is visible in their physical appearance, and one notices their Jewish heritage in their intellectual works, and one can sense that there are among them deep connections in their disposition and numerous possibilities of communicating that are based on the same way of thinking and of feeling."

The author of this provocative statement? Einstein, himself. Was Einstein right?"

๐Ÿ What If Queen Bees Arenโ€™t Made by Royal Jelly Alone?

For decades, the textbook story sounded simple: feed an ordinary honeybee larva royal jelly, and it becomes a queen.

A new study in Nature suggests the real story is far more sophisticated.

Researchers found that future queens are not just fed differently โ€” they are raised inside specially engineered โ€œroyal cribsโ€: peanut-shaped queen cells built from unusual wax, kept warmer and more humid, and maintained by dedicated young worker bees.

These queen cells are not passive containers. Their wax is physically and chemically distinct from ordinary worker-cell wax: softer, less dense, more flexible, and better at holding heat and moisture. In other words, the nursery itself helps shape development.

The key experiment was simple but powerful. Scientists raised queen-destined larvae with the same royal jelly, but changed the wax environment. Larvae exposed to ordinary worker-cell wax were more likely to die and developed into smaller, weaker queens.

So royal jelly matters โ€” but it is not the whole mechanism.

๐Ÿ”น Queen development depends on diet + architecture + microclimate
๐Ÿ”น Queen-cell wax is chemically and physically different from ordinary comb wax
๐Ÿ”น Young โ€œqueen cell buildersโ€ appear specially adapted to construct and maintain these royal nurseries
๐Ÿ”น Extra warmth may help queens mature faster: about 16 days vs about 21 days for workers
๐Ÿ”น Similar patterns were found in western and eastern honeybees, suggesting deep evolutionary roots

Important caveat: this study focused on honeybees, not all social insects. And scientists still need to identify exactly which physical or chemical features of the wax are doing the biological work.

Still, the implication is fascinating: development is not shaped by genes and nutrition alone. Built environments โ€” even tiny wax chambers โ€” can influence what an organism becomes.

If a wax cradle can help decide the fate of a future queen, what other biological outcomes are being shaped by structures we barely notice?

Neocons Scurry for Cover

Even Robert Kagan, the King Neocon himself, is not so much walking back his bellicose imperialism as running away from it: In 1997, Kagan co-founded Project for the New American Century, a neoconservative think tank that lobbied for a muscular foreign policy and the maintenance of U.S. global hegemony. The group exercised its considerable influence [โ€ฆ]
