Army conducts first overseas test of 'Hammer of the Gods' weapon-disrupting system

The overseas test demonstrated the warefare system could successfully disrupt enemy navigation signals covertly

The U.S. Army on Sunday revealed it has tested a new warfare system overseas designed to covertly scramble the navigation signals used by enemy precision weapons, making it harder for adversaries to accurately strike targets from long distances while avoiding detection.

The electronic system, dubbed "Hammer of the Gods," was tested at sea off the U.S. West Coast for the first time in mid-July as part of the Project Convergence Capstone 6 (PC-C6) experiment.

While land-based versions have been demonstrated over the past two years, the exercise marked the official debut of the maritime variant, the Army said.

The portable signal disruptor can reportedly blind enemy to several precision-guided weapons such as long-range artillery, guided missiles and cruise missiles.

The radio signals specifically jam positioning, navigation and timing (PNT) signals, including GPS data, that precision weapons rely on to navigate accurately.

Without reliable PNT data, weapon accuracy drops sharply, increasing the likelihood of delayed missions and missed targets.

The system also creates a resilient communications network that allows friendly forces to stay connected despite heavy electronic jamming.

It links military devices together, so troops can continue to "shoot, move and communicate" even while operating in degraded environments.

Army officials said the experiment demonstrated the counter-PNT system could be successfully launched, operated and recovered in real-world maritime environments.

The testing brought together the U.S. Army, Navy and Space Force, alongside U.S. Space Forces Pacific, Naval Base San Diego and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command, to integrate space, cyber and conventional capabilities during the exercise.

Interesting business lessons.

"Orthodoxy is not always wrong. But it is always optimized for someone elseโ€™s interests. The franchise system was optimized for franchise revenue. The certification programs were optimized for institutional defensibility. The automated rate management system was optimized for the median operator, not the attentive one.

"Every operator who blindly follows the playbook is subsidizing the operator who reads the incentive structure first."

Looks as if Trump is stuck between the Israelis and a hard place. Their leverage will determine who wins...

"MBS (Saudi) reportedly implied to Trump that if U.S. strikes triggered Iranian retaliation against Aramco, Saudi would pay for the repairs by selling U.S. Treasuries.

And that warning set off alarm bells in Washington at a moment when the bond market is already under severe strain.

Saudi also reportedly threatened to deny U.S. access to bases inside the kingdom if Trump went ahead, the same restriction that turned Project Freedom into a leaky blockade earlier this year."

๐Ÿ“ The Israeli strategy was first and foremost based around the idea of drawing the US into a protracted conflict with Iran. If you don't understand this, it's impossible to make sense of this conflict.

Israel is mid-tier military power in its region, and limited resources, manpower, and the constraints of geography preclude it from ever mounting a serious military challenge to Iran, which has ten times its population, a large industrial base, and the most favorable geography imaginable for a defensive war.

What the Israelis would like to do, in a perfect world, is turn Iran into another Syria or Libya. They'd like to see it destabilized, its infrastructure destroyed, and its polity broken into warring ethnic and sectarian enclaves. "Regime change" is not what they're looking for, because even a controllable comprador regime can be overthrown, bringing the plan back to square one. This is exceptionally likely in Iran.

But this is an aspirational goal. Because the Israelis wield enormous influence over American politics, they have a unique opportunity. They can burn the political capital of an American president and effectively lease the US military for free. They gain access to carrier strike groups, thousands of sophisticated standoff munitions, aircraft, drones, missile interceptors, and so on, and they're able to do it at minimal cost to themselves.

The Iranians are forced to expend thousands of their own missiles and drones, and only a fraction of these are used against Israel. Iranian infrastructure is destroyed, the country is blockaded, military losses are incurred, all from American, not Israeli weapons. The cost/benefit ratio here is mind boggling.

The biggest risk is that the Israelis wind up taking so much of the blame that the American system rips out their influence apparatus in response. This may be a real long term risk, but there's no sign of it happening anytime soon.

The real Israeli strategic failure will come if Iran emerges from this stronger than it started, with its offensive capability maintained, economic concessions from its neighbors, and so on. This is looking like an increasingly likely possibility.

One of the more remarkable developments to me is that the American public is content to watch the Israelis totally sit out this phase of the war after Trump admin officials openly said they're protecting Israeli interests. I've seen precisely zero outrage about it.

"In any case, I am not going to dignify that clown show. Here is my prediction - nothing will happen, beyond Rand Paul posturing and Fauci saying he canโ€™t recall anything. Even if Fauci says something else, it doesnโ€™t matter. No accountability, no justice for the victims and no change to how HHS is going to continue to lie to all of us while funding more of the same โ€œfast-trackedโ€ poisons, โ€œcountermeasuresโ€, โ€œpreparednessโ€, etc. I am not black-pilling you, the truth is never โ€œblackโ€ or โ€œpillโ€ - it is always valuable and liberating. I am simply going to use this opportunity to remind how important it is to not compromise it in exchange for a cheap thrill, no matter how much you want to smash Fauciโ€™s smirk off his face.

"No matter how vile and despicable Fauci is - and he is truly vile and despicable - โ€œprosecutingโ€ him for crimes that he didnโ€™t commit is designed to fail. Thatโ€™s exactly why Rand Paul is doing it. He is running a fake (very safe) prosecution show for his own political gain-of-function and with full approval of the real criminals - Trump and the Pandemic Preparedness crime cartel. The goal of this cartel and Paulโ€™s โ€œinvestigationโ€ is to legitimize and forever enshrine the governmentโ€™s self-assumed right to remove the civil rights and Constitutionally guaranteed protections under the doctrine of โ€œpandemicsโ€, whether claimed natural or โ€œgain-of-functionโ€ derived. They want to keep all the illegal-laws and pseudo-legal powers they have obtained through Operation Covid in place in order to commit the same crimes in perpetuity."

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต It is becoming increasingly clear that the weakest link in the global dollar system is Japan and that the meltdown of the Japanese financial system might cause the unwinding of the whole system.

Last week the US Treasury used every trick in the book to try to maximise the impact of its intervention in the market for yen - including "accidentally" leaking Bessent's memo to the press to try to get markets to do some heavy lifting.

Bessent really is fighting gravity here. The markets are convinced that the yen has entered a doom spiral and are heavily short.

Can you blame the shorts? Going short yen and long other currencies with higher interest rates has been a trade that has given double the returns of the S&P500 since 2022. The Japanese are offering seriously cheap capital to export and invest elsewhere.

Why doesn't the Bank of Japan stop this easy yen flow by raising interest rates? Japan watchers are starting to realise that if the Japanese raised interest rates it might trigger a massive financial crisis in Japan.

Because it has run such low interest rates for so long Japanese companies have become addicted to debt. Around 14% of Japanese companies are "zombie companies" that pay more in debt interest than they make in profit. Interest rate increases will cause a mass default event.

The problem for the US is that US Treasury yields have become correlated with Japanese yields. Bessent is worried that yen instability will spill over into the market for US Treasuries.

The reason for this is simple enough: Japan is the largest foreign holder of US Treasuries. If Japan starts going broke it will be forced to sell these US Treasuries to prop up the yen. This would flood the market for US Treasuries.

US borrowing costs are already far too high for comfort. Inflation-adjusted borrowing at the long-end of the curve is at levels last seen just before the Global Financial Crisis of 2008.

Bessent's intervention may calm the yen market for a few weeks. Or it may not. Either way, the problem here is structural. Japan is about to go through a massive energy crisis that will put further pressure on the yen.

At a certain point, yen interventions will become ineffective, Japan will slip into crisis, and that crisis will spread into the market for US Treasuries. From there it could take down the AI sector and the equity markets. At that point we're at endgame for the USD system.
