It is this authorโs conclusion, that the recent upsurge in Flat Earth mania, beginning with the first Flat Earth Conference in 2015, is directly attributable to an orchestrated CIA-sponsored psychological operation. And furthermore, the targeted audience is the alternative community. The big spike of interest in Flat Earth has levelled off since 2015, but what has emerged is a much more militant cult of believers.

Did you know there was a Wehrmacht general that the USSR was never able to capture after the war?
In May 1945, General Boris Smyslovsky, along with soldiers from the First Russian National Army, crossed the border into the tiny principality of Liechtenstein. The Soviet Union demanded their extradition, but the principality refused.
In fact, itโs even more accurate to say that Smyslovsky was the only commander of a major Russian anti-Soviet formation within the Wehrmacht whose group was not handed over to the USSR, thanks to Liechtensteinโs principled stance.
Imagine this: a country with a population smaller than a small city saying โnoโ to one of the worldโs largest powers. This episode remains one of the most extraordinary stories of post-war Europe.

When Only Barbarians Drank Milk
โButter eaterโ was once a terrible insult.
During a visit to conquered Britain, Julius Caesar was appalled by how much milk the northerners consumed.
The Romans often commented on the inferiority of other cultures, and they took excessive milk drinking as evidence of barbarism. Similarly, butter was a useful ointment for burns; it was not a suitable food. As Pliny the Elder bluntly put it, butter is โthe choicest food among barbarian tribes.โ People who ate butter and drank milk were uncivilized outsiders. Drinking milk was something that only crude, uneducated rural people did and was rare among adults of all social classes.
Japanese Buddhists looked down on Westerners, who they thought consumed too much dairy. They claimed they could smell it on them, and even into the 20th century used the pejorative term Batฤ dasaku, or โbutter stinker,โ for a Westerner.
