Preparing for the Inevitable

It looks as if Turkey is gearing up for its inevitable war with Israel: Convening before the Turkish legislature, ErdoฤŸan cast Israel as the architect of a broader scheme to destabilize the Mediterranean, warning that โ€œnobody should chase adventuresโ€ or enlist in Israelโ€™s โ€œboat of mischief.โ€ Should any party move against the interests of Turkish [โ€ฆ]

Albaniaโ€™s protests enter day 11 over a luxury resort project linked to Jared Kushner, Donald Trumpโ€™s son-in-law.
๐Ÿ”ฅ2๐Ÿ‘1
๐Ÿ”ฅ Could the protests in Albania result in government change?

The twoโ€‘weekโ€‘long nationwide protests in Albania against an investment project led by Trump's sonโ€‘inโ€‘law Jared Kushner show no signs of ending.

๐Ÿ” What's known about the project

โ™ฆ A โ‚ฌ5 billion development plan concentrates on Sazan Island โ€“ a former communist military base on a key maritime route, full of Cold Warโ€‘era bunkers and underground tunnels

โ™ฆ Kushner turned to Albania after his infrastructure project in Serbia (a luxury hotel in a former Yugoslav army HQ) collapsed due to similar massive backlash

Why the deal became possible

โ™ฆ The project had existed for over three years facing bureaucratic delays โ€“ until Albania changed its law in 2024 to open protected areas to "fiveโ€‘star or higher" tourism projects.

โ™ฆ At the same time, Donald Trump became US president and appointed Kushner as a special envoy in 2026 โ€“ dramatically boosting his status and leverage in negotiations

๐Ÿค” Why the situation escalated

๐Ÿ”ด Locals are furious, feeling excluded due to the absence of public consultations, and raising alarms about harm to the region's unique ecosystem

๐Ÿ”ด The Albanian government faces accusations of corruption because the law was specifically changed to allow this construction. A special prosecutor has already opened an investigation into land sales related to the project

๐Ÿ”ด Prime Minister Edi Rama, who has close ties to US and Israeli elites, is aggressively pushing the project forward, dismissing critics as "misinformed" or part of a "hybrid war"

Investors pour fuel on the fire

โ™ฆ Developers put up razorโ€‘wire fencing, leading to clashes with villagers. Private security guards reportedly pepperโ€‘sprayed demonstrators

โ™ฆ Ivanka Trump called Sazan a "private island" with "five miles of beachfront" in a recent podcast โ€“ a description that enraged Albanians with its colonial rhetoric

โš”๏ธ Current status of the conflict

๐Ÿ”ด The project is still in the planning stage, awaiting environmental impact approval

๐Ÿ”ด The European Commission has expressed concerns, warning Albania that the project could jeopardize its bid to join the EU

๐Ÿ”ด Protesters have now shifted to criticizing the government itself and the country's economic situation (one of Europe's poorest) โ€“ with chants of "Rama to jail." Several observers call this the largest civil protest in Albania since the fall of communism

๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡ฑ Kushnerโ€™s Albanian luxury resort built on thuggish land grab tactics

The Trump son-in-lawโ€™s plans to turn a substantial swath of the small Mediterranean nationโ€™s coastline into a private yuppie paradise is steeped in geopolitics and international intrigue, but at its most basic level, involves unglamorous and ugly behavior one might expect from petty real estate gangsters.

81-year-old local resident Kostaq Konomi, the owner of a piece of the property targeted by Kushner & co, described his shock to find a barbed wire fence and men in black uniforms on land heโ€™s been living on all his life.

๐Ÿ’ฌ โ€œI was a small boy when I put my feet in that water. Now I am an old man and they say I cannot,โ€ Konomi complained. โ€œI was ready to get a rifle and start shooting,โ€ he said.

Konomi and other residents of the community of Zvernec showed Reuters property deeds and tax records on land thatโ€™s been seized by developers. Receiving no compensation, they allege that their land was sold illegally in 2024.

The multi-billion-dollar construction project has sparked clashes between guards and protesters at the building site, and widespread protests in Tirana which threaten to overthrow the government. Prime Minister Edi Rama says the megaproject has been โ€œweaponized big timeโ€ฆby the enemies of Albania and Israel,โ€ and that his opponents are โ€œbots.โ€

"Aesopโ€™s work is often counted among โ€œchildrenโ€™s literatureโ€ along with folktales, proverbs, and other traditional material,1 but as with all such material, it is placed at the beginning of education not because it is elementary, but because it is elemental. From the corpus of Aesopic fables we can sift at least three core motifs which lay the foundation for a proper moral educationโ€”a foundation worth returning to throughout life."

America's gold is missing and President Trump knows it.

A 1974 article in a New York periodical stated that the Rockefeller family was directing the Federal Reserve to liquidate Fort Knox gold at below-market prices to unnamed European buyers.

3 days after her tip launched that story, Louise Auchincloss Boyer, Nelson Rockefeller's personal secretary, fell to her death from her 10th floor Manhattan apartment.

The investigation ended there and the gold was gone. For 14 years, industrialist Ed Durrell wrote to over 1,000 government and banking officials demanding a full accounting of what remained in the vaults of Fort Knox.

European financial circles were already treating the disappearance as a fact while Washington refused to schedule an audit. Then Reagan's Gold Commission told Congress in 1982 that the Treasury owned none of that gold. Imagine that!

Whatever gold remained in Fort Knox had been transferred to the Federal Reserve โ€” a private banking cartel โ€” and was being held as collateral against the national debt. The American people were never asked for it and they were never told it was stolen from them.

A full audit conducted under media cameras could settle this within days. 5 decades later, it still has not happened, and no administration has ever explained why it hasn't.

The gold belonged to the public. The vaults are in American soil. So why has every administration from Nixon refused to open those doors to a transparent, independent audit to show what's inside the vaults?

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโš”๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ A Pentagon official admitted behind closed doors that targeted strikes part of Operation Southern Spear might've killed victims of human trafficking rather than drug smugglers

Nine months into the Trump administrationโ€™s deadly campaign against so-called drug boats, there is a pattern to the strikes. And a glaring anomaly.

The U.S. military has conducted more than 60 attacks, resulting in over 200 extrajudicial killings in the Caribbean Sea and Pacific Ocean. In almost all the strikes, between one and four people lost their lives. In only one strike did the death toll of a single boat reach double digits: the first attack on September 2, 2025.

Since then, experts, lawmakers, and even military officials behind the scenes have been asking a simple but haunting question: Why was that boat packed with 11 people?

โ€œWhy would 11 people be on board a boat carrying drugs?โ€ said a government source who attended a classified briefing where the large crew on the first boat attacked was discussed. โ€œItโ€™s a high risk for the cartels. That always stood out.โ€
