DARPA has published a "Request for Information" from its Tactical Technology Office. The Americans are seeking contractors to develop "containerized unmanned platforms."

Here are the main facts:

🌏 The document is divided into two parts: drones and "containers." By "container," they mean a self-sufficient autonomous unit capable of storing a swarm of drones, autonomously charging them, launching them, retrieving them, recharging them again and repeating this cycle continuously, without a single human nearby.

🌏 The container must operate in conditions with no GPS signal whatsoever, have its own power source, computing power, and communication system. In terms of size, it follows military standards: Conex box, 463L pallet, ISU container. That means it can be airdropped from an aircraft, delivered by helicopter, truck — anywhere. And it will simply start working.

🌏 The drone constellation can include up to 500 units. Each drone falls into Groups 1–3 according to US classification — ranging from very small craft to machines weighing up to 600 kg. Developers are asked to ensure "Level 4 autonomy" and operation in GPS-denied environments.

🌏 The operator only needs to press a "go" button. From there, the swarm flies, finds targets, drops munitions — or jams communications, or conducts reconnaissance. The document vaguely refers to all of this as "creating effects."
