No, Einstein was never very good at math.
https://ift.tt/v1a7ZUq
โOh, that Einstein,โ his math professor, Hermann Minkowski (1864โ1909) declared, โalways cutting lectures โ I really would not have believed him capable of it." Einstein was able to skip class because his good friend, Swiss mathematician Marcel Grossmann (1878โ1936), shared his meticulous notes. โโFor me it [Einsteinโs success] came as a tremendous surprise,โ Minkowski explained to his former student Max Born, โfor in his student days Einstein had been a lazy dog. He never bothered about mathematics at all.โ

๐จBREAKING: Japan Calls for Calm as Toilet Paper Panic Buying Returns Amid Online Rumors
Remember how toilet paper was the first thing to run out in American grocery stores in 2020 when COVID began?
It's starting again, in Japan
From See.news:
The government of Japan has warned citizens against panic buying of toilet paper following the spread of social media posts suggesting shortages driven by concerns over escalating military developments in the Middle East.
The advisory comes after reports and online images showed empty shelves and stockpiling behavior, with some users on X claiming that nearby stores had run out of essential goods.
Photos circulating online also depicted consumers hoarding items ranging from pet food to personal hygiene products and even stacks of beverages.
Panic buying of toilet paper is not new in Japan. The phenomenon first emerged during the 1973 oil crisis, which triggered the countryโs first post-war economic contraction.
Similar patterns resurfaced in the wake of the 2011 Tลhoku earthquake and tsunami and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Literary Relevance is Not Guaranteed

"The disruption โto energy markets caused by the Iran war is a lesson on the risks of relying on fossil fuels which should drive governments to wean their economies off oil and gas faster", the U.N. climate secretary told โReuters on Monday.
"If there was ever a moment to accelerate that energy transition, โbreaking dependencies which have shackled economies, this is the time," Simon โ Stiell, Executive Secretary of the U.N. climate change arm UNFCCC, said in an interview.

Why is Canada not fossil fuel independent?
Canada produces enough oil and gas to be fully self-sufficient nationally, but poor economic priorities, intentional infrastructure limitations, poor policy choices and regional imbalances mean it still imports some fuels.
Major issues:
1. Canada produces more oil and natural gas than it consumes domestically but exports the surplusโprimarily to the U.S.โrather than sending it to domestic refineries.
2. Many refineries in Eastern Canada are not equipped to process heavy bitumen from Albertaโs oilsands. Instead, they rely on imported lighter crude oils from the U.S., even though Canada exports similar volumes westward.
3. There is no major pipeline connecting Western oil-producing regions to Eastern consumers, making it cheaper and logistically easier to trade with the U.S. than to supply domestic markets fully.
4. Government support for fossil fuel productionโincluding public financing and tax incentivesโprioritizes industry growth over energy self-sufficiency.
