๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ท On the other side, numerous sources indicate that Iran has begun laying naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz.

Only a few dozen have been laid in recent days, the sources said, but Iran has the capability to deploy hundreds if not thousands more, retaining upward of 80% to 90% of its small boats and mine layers operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Meanwhile, the U.S. has just 4 minesweepers โ€ฆ

Commercial crews took a picture on March 9th 2026, showing the U.S' 4 minesweepers, USS Devastator, USS Dextrous, USS Gladiator and USS Sentry, being transported to Delaware Bay in Philadelphia were they are going to be decommissioned and scrapped.

If the IRGC did truly mine the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Navy has ZERO capacity to demine it and reopen it to trade.

"The whole region is now aflame, with US troops pulling out of bases, Arab oil economies being shut down, and no one seemingly able to figure out how to stop the Iranian juggernaut. All internal rumors point to neither the Israeli or US side having anticipated the Iranian โ€œregimeโ€ surviving so intact."

๐Ÿ“ˆ The ratio of urea to corn is nearing its worst levels of the post-Covid inflation.

The war with Iran was launched literally at the worst possible time for a fertilizer shortage via the strait. Developed countries will see prices go sky high and the third world will simply go without if the crisis continues.

Grok is a term coined by Robert A. Heinlein in his 1961 novel Stranger in a Strange Land. In the story, the word comes from a fictional Martian language and describes a form of understanding so complete that the boundary between observer and observed dissolves. The term later entered broader English usage, especially in technical and countercultural communities, to describe deep, intuitive comprehension rather than surface-level knowledge.

If to grok is to collapse the distance between knower and known, then understanding is not passive. Immersion reshapes perception and gradually alters the one who participates. What we repeatedly enter, we begin to internalize.

Philosophically, this echoes Martin Heideggerโ€™s claim that we are not detached spectators but always already โ€œbeing-in-the-world.โ€ Neurologically, it parallels Donald Hebbโ€™s theory that repeated activation strengthens synaptic connections. Participation forms structure.

Food for thought.

๐ŸŽˆ Helium, a critical component in manufacture of medical equipment (MRI scanners especially), computer chips and in several industrial processes is running low due to the closure of the Hormuz Strait.

โ€ข Qatarโ€™s shutdown of LNG production has taken about a third of global helium production offline, affecting chipmakers who rely on helium for semiconductor manufacturing.

โ€ข Helium has no viable substitute in the chip manufacturing process, and no other source can immediately replace Qatar's supply, with helium containers already filled before the war remaining stranded

โ€ข If the disruption persists, helium shortages could force chipmakers to deprioritise lower-margin product lines, reinforcing the existing allocation toward AI memory and deepening an already severe memory shortage

The helium shortage will spell doom for the ambitious plans of AI companies as it will disrupt any and all plans to build data centers.

Halting data center construction will cause the AI bubble to burst and crash the American economy.
