According to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, some diplomats sustained light injuries, but no one was wounded bad enough in order to require hospitalisation.

The incident isn't expected to lead to serious consequences affecting the bilateral Russian-American ties. However, it gives the Russian state media machine another occasion to blame the West.

Traditionally, the United States and Israel attempted to avoid striking objects in Iran, where Russian citizens were present. Many speculate that there is an unofficial agreement in place to guarantee safety of Russians working inside consulates, NGOs, and nuclear facilities.

BREAKING: The FBI has warned police departments in California that Iran wants to retaliate for American attacks by launching offensive drones against the West Coast, according to an alert reviewed by ABC News.

“We recently acquired information that as of early February 2026, Iran allegedly aspired to conduct a surprise attack using unmanned aerial vehicles from an unidentified vessel off the coast of the United State Homeland, specifically against unspecified targets in California, in the event that the US conducted strikes against Iran,” according to the alert distributed at the end of February. “We have no additional information on the timing, method, target, or perpetrators of this alleged attack.”
