Today I learned that the United States not only had denominations of $500, $1000, $5,000, and $10,000, which are still legal for people to own, but for a very brief period they also had a $100,000 bill that was only ever used by banks and is considered illegal for private citizens to own.

Russiaโs oil production costs are rising as reserves dwindle, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Extracting each barrel is becoming more difficult and therefore more expensive. The war has also driven up costs: Western sanctions have complicated equipment purchases, often forcing Russia to buy through third countries. Labor shortages have pushed up wages for oil workers, while the price of hard materials like sand, used in extraction, has also risen.
โEverything has become more expensive. All of this internal pressure is making it extremely difficult for Russia to increase production even in the near term,โ said Matthew Sagers, a Russia expert at S&P Global Commodity Insights.

** Geofencing is a digital marketing and surveillance technique that sets up a virtual perimeter (or โfenceโ) around a specific physical location for example, a church, college campus, or protest site.
When someone with a smartphone enters that geofenced area, their device can be identified and tagged through location services, mobile ad IDs, or app data. Once tagged, the person can then be:
ยท Targeted with ads (e.g. pro-Israel / anti-Palestinian messaging) while theyโre inside the fence, and later as they move around or browse the internet.
ยท Tracked over time: the campaign can follow that device after it leaves, continuing to deliver tailored ads for weeks or months.
