The case appears to have remarkable similarities to the 2019 case, when 12 Israeli men were accused of gang raping an 18-year-old British girl in a hotel room in Ayia Napa.

They were released after the young woman from Derbyshire retracted her police statement. She later claimed that she had done so after being threatened by police officers and questioned for eight hours without a lawyer or an interpreter.

The charges against the Israelis were dropped and they flew home to a heroes’ welcome, popping bottles of champagne at Ben Gurion Airport, embracing their families and chanting “the Brit is a whore”.

🇨🇺 Cuba has uncovered a human trafficking ring that is trying to recruit Cubans to fight for Russia in Ukraine.

The Cuban Foreign Affairs Ministry said that the network is operating from Russia and that it has "neutralized" the attempts to recruit Cubans.

The Russian government has been trying to recruit foreigners to fight in Ukraine, including migrants from Central Asia.

The Natal conference – whose website warns that “by the end of the century, nearly every country on earth will have a shrinking population, and economic systems dependent on reliable growth will collapse” – is scheduled to be held on 1 December at the Line Hotel.
