After military service Ken Barr relocated to London to launch a career as a commercial artist and briefly worked for the British magazine Nebula Science Fiction, contributing three undistinguished covers and numerous interior illustrations.

He also drew for a British Comic book, D.C. Thomson's Commando: War Stories in Pictures. After arriving in America in 1967, he continued working for comics, illustrating DC Comics' war comics like G.I. Combat, Our Army at War, and Our Fighting Forces.

He also worked for such magazines as Eerie and Vampirella, and for several black-and- white comics from Marvel Comics like Doc Savage, The Rampaging Hulk, and Planet of the Apes.

Japanese artist Takato Yamamoto's main influences for his art includes Gothic Horrors, Ukiyo-e and Mangas.

His great technique by combining themes of horrors and adding symbolisms of death with bright colors and soft, calming details creates a hauntingly beautiful art piece regardless of the dark themes.
