The band self-financed the album, combining the savings of vocalist Tom Araya, who was employed as a respiratory therapist, and money borrowed from guitarist Kerry King's father.

This is the great Jeff Hanneman at work, sporting the classic Agnostic Front "Skinhead" t-shirt. All of you know how much Jeff was into punk and how it influenced the sound of the band, right? but you may not be fully aware this was totally reciprocated, being Slayer also a key influence for many hardcore, crossover and metalcore bands to come out early 90s u/g
scene.
Although being a California-based West Coast band, Slayer had a close relationship with the East Coast hardcore punk scene. During the Reign In Blood tour, Slayer performed at what would be considered by many old school New Yorkers, their most legendary performance in this area. This memorable show was at The Ritz (now Webster Hall) with NYHC Godfathers' Agnostic Front and had a significant impact on the Hardcore/Crossover scene.

[May 13, 1967 - Dec 13, 2001]
Schuldiner died of cancer at the age of 34 and was cremated.
He would be 57 if he was alive today.
